I did an experiment to see how "dangerous" getting to -0.6 space was...

I outfitted a sigil with one GSC and inside an NPC trade goods dog tag (1 unit worth) and nothing else.

I had 14 jumps or so to get from where I was to -0.6 space (no, I don't remember the exact system).

No, I didn't autopilot.

Long story short, I made it ALL THE WAY to -0.6 space, tried docking to a POS (which didn't work but was funny to see the message that displayed), checked out some asteroid fields to see what was spawning (huge rocks btw), and then proceeded to had back the same way I came.

the first few stargates were quite uneventful through null sec and lower space.

Around the 5th or 6th jump, I was traveling through 0.0 space, proceeded to the next stargate (manually mind you, no autopilot still) and found myself caught in some kind of bubble (being recently returned after several years and never really getting into PVP, I assumed it was some kind of anti-warp bubble that pulled me out of warp). Within less than 30 seconds, my sigil got pew pewed along with my pod.... and the attacker got one measly npc trade good dog tag.

LULZ!!!!!

anyways, it made me laugh. I don't know who it was but that was fun, thank you for the entertainment. It was quite the show to see how quickly my sigil got tore up.


(this is a serious post and i'm not angry in the least as I chose to do this intentionally to see what would happen.)

I WAS surprised to see how dead that area of space appeared to be. I highly expected a huge fleet to be at at least ONE stargate. But alas.... it was one lone ranger in a well outfitted ship (it looked like a destroyer but I could be wrong.) Anyways, good fun.


Edit: Found the KL and the player...and corrected the area I was shot down in.... thanks J! Was fun!

Nope, they fixed that. Instead of a firey explosion, you now get an annoying popup. Its ok though, the real carebears get scared of the popup and run away from their computers, leaving their AFK ships to idle until someone comes along to relieve them of their podgoo anyways.

Yeah, i've been gone for awhile.... just reupped a month ago and got back into mining...which is what I enjoy (at the keyboard mind you). PVP has always interested me, just never got into it. Who knows maybe soon. So in the meantime, i'll just be bantha fodder for the pvp elite. :D. EDIT: And on top of that, I now have a wife and 4 month old daughter... gaming time in general is quite limited, though PVP / Pirating would be a ton of fun.


Another side note, the thrill of trying to get a full industrial through hostile space reminds me of the Silkroad Online days. Good times indeed.


Another side note, uh, to the side note, I got popped again last night trying to move some items in Amarr space lol. That was NOT intentional. I saw all the red and yellow in my PVP/PVE tab and thought "oh ****" lol. less than a minute later I lost a bestower and my pod. lol. That was a horrible 23 jumps back to amarr space. ah well. still fun.
