You shouldn't have joined the military m8. Enjoy your lost skillpoints.

Icelandic Military? That consists of three guys, one has a pitchfork and the other two Swiss Army knives. Seriously, most Cub Scout dens would smoke the Icelandic Military.

On topic. A lot of people think Eve will be dead soon, so your training issues might be a non-issue.

Why not? This seems to be the safest way to get the task done.

You want to tell her i spend $143 x 5 for Eve online? I sure have no wish to die.

You may have larger problems.

When I deploy to a real combat zone next year (5 months), what is CCP's policy on account training?

I don't expect my wife to change skills for my 5 accounts.

I don't want to give my account info to my trusted friends Lol

I don't want to miss getting some lvl 5's.

Is there any way I could send CCP a list of lvl 5's to train for me? (Yes, I know its a long shot,)

Any good suggestions welcomed. Flames are expected, don't fail me forums.

I'm pretty sure this question has been asked numerous times and while it wouldn't make any sense for CCP to do this, I do agree that in certain situations they should make exceptions.

While I respect your choice to go & kill people who have never done anything to you, if CCP make an exception for this, then in regards to fairness & balance they have to make an exception for me when I'm too lazy to log in.

Well OP, It was your choice to join the military.

Your decision has consequences, this is one of many.

CCP will do nothing to help you with this anytime soon and they shouldn't, you know that.

Adapt or suck it up is the only advice I have for you.

I am coming back from another tour in afghanistan now. I ended up offlining my accounts through most of it. Do not plan on doing it over here you may have **** internet. The problem isn't generally getting on the client and changing skills it is updating the client on any of the tiny patches that come out. Seems CCP has patches that if they fail along the way you are gonna have to start over. I lost an account that a friend took care of during my 15 month tour to what I know now is account sharing and not ok. Its a sad fact that there is no way and no exception for special cases. I would think your wife having a power of attorney to take care of your affairs would make it so there was no way of getting hit by account sharing as a court of law sees you as the same person.

Good luck download evemon and work out skill ques and have her update skills as you go.

It generally helps to reference some facts instead of purely relying on hyperbole to get a point across.

Iceland does not have a standing army.
Iceland does have a Coast Guard (4 ships, 4 aircraft and an air defense system according to wikipedia) and some quasi-military police units.

I definitely expect CCP to enable us to change skilltraining via smartphone apps. It is within the game's logical progression. But when it becomes available is anyone's guess.

Regarding that, if you know of others in your unit or the like, perhaps you guys could arrange to have a mirror of the client passed around whenever anyone gets a chance to update it.

I'm fairly sure that was be a feasible solution for that particular issue anyway.

@OP:

Aside from that, logMein isn't a bad idea. My brother uses it for managing servers and assisting clients, along with Join.me The latter requires someone at the other PC to facilitate it, but once you've done all that, they can give you access to the PC. Not sure of the sort of capability available there.

LogMein requires either that the PC be online to access, or another PC on the network that can use Wake on LAN to boot the PC you want to access. In the latter case, both PCs need Pro Subscriptions to LogMein, but it might be better than leaving your gaming rig running for 5 months.

Maybe you never turn it off anyway; I do mine, consistently. When I am not using it, it's off unless I happen to just be in the other room.

I think that is probably the best option. Either way, if you don't want to tell your wife about running 5 accounts, maybe you could choose a lesser number to stay active for that period if you want to do that.

..and either way, stay safe over there.

Hasn't CCP said for some time now that they don't want people to make changes to things like skill Q's and Market orders without having to log into the actual game, and that their idea of an EVE app was something that would allow you to view your skill Q and market orders, chat, and read mail.

I'm pretty they don't want people to be able to do what the OP wants to do. Go away for half a year, never log into EVE, but still be able to train a character.

Just because your character continiues training offline doesn't mean they don't want you to log in anymore than you would in any other MMO, and it would be pretty silly to ask Blizzard or SoE to continue leveling your charater for you because real life is going to take you away from the game.

OP's request is pretty silly to be honest.

Maybe I can expect CCP to play the game for me when my health reaches the point where I'm unable to use a mouse and keyboard. OP chose to join the military, I never asked lose the use of my arms and hands. While they're at it they could send someone over to my place every day to paint for me.

If you can use remot desktop apps to play EVE while deployed then you can play EVE while deployed on a cheap laptop without using logmein; which isn't actually good for anything that involves flying in space.

Besides, I'm not sure EVE is something you should be worrying yourself about while deployed to a COMBAT zone. It sounds like the OP is going to be somewhere that he's not going to have ready access to the internet and a PC that can run EVE.
