Bumping at the gate is like spamming convo?

(please don't take this as anti-bumping. I love bumping and hope it stays as is. Heck, bumping off station is a great way to kill a blue faction BS.)

Why is bumping needed? Do they need the extra time to reship?or could it be done without? Just curious as I don't think removing bumping would change anything.

Very Sad that goons cant gank without exploit style tactics. If you guys could not keep a frieghter from warping by bumping your little Hi sec gank squads would be out of business.

De'Veldrin's Corollary (to Malcanis' Law): Any idea that seeks to limit the ability of a large nullsec bloc to do something in the name of allowing more small groups into sov null will inevitably make it that much harder for small groups to enter sov null.

You sound bitter.

Now given that during burn jita, multuple freighters were burned without bumping, how can you prove they even need to bump. It seems it may be fun, it may annoy the target, but it seems unnecessary.

And bumping is not an exploit. If it was, ccp would turn it off, much like what happens at the jita undock.

As for uses of bumping, wasn't a ship in the last alliance tournament saved by a last second teammate's bump?

Bumping as a whole is fine. There are many times it can come into play as a valid game mechanic. But using it to basically warp scram any frieghter you want with 0 risk is exploiting broken game mechanics.

Still havent seen a single valid answer to how it is ok for anyone to be able to lock down a frieghter in Hi sec with no recourse or chance for the frieghter pilot to act. And please dont give me that "You should be webbing it with and alt crap" When CCP gives me a free account and character thats designed for this specific purpose dont act like its a valid tactic to get around and obvious broken and overly exploited Mechanic.

Im sure that CCP didnt take into account from the start a 2 day old Dessie pilot could perma lock down a 1.5 billion isk frieghter with no risk involved in Hi sec. Again throwing the "CCP said it ok so its not and exploit" is Moot. Nothing is and exploit till CCP sees that its overly abused and this is the one single tactic that is required to take out frieghters in HI sec. Its so easy to see who the gankers are because they support this cheap exploit.

The fact that it's profitable is a secondary concern for the Goons. They'd do it even if it wasn't, just because they can. See, as much as I may dislike their antics personally, they really do get what Eve is all about - Having a good time with some mates, usually at someone else's expense.

What? If they truly had a blob, why would they need to bump? A large enough blob of basis, oracles, etc could easily pop a freighter before it could align and warp.

Further more, it sounds like they used the bump to offer the pilot a sporting chance. Bump so the freighter can't warp, offer 500 mil isk ransom, and see if it takes. Given that the freighter had 5 bil in assets, the 500 mil seems like a fair ransom.

Look, you come off as too bitter. Down play the whole "goons are the devil" attitude and you might win more to your cause. Keep the attitude, and it just comes off as some bitter victim of a gank.

And no I don't like the goons, but I sure as heck know not to support them by making sure my indy flies her charon with under 1 bil assets in the cargo hold all the time.
