Huge Framerate decrease because of fog/clouds in missions

Hello everyone,
is there any option to turn off these clouds in missions or anomalies? I really like the effect, but my framerate drops below 20-30 when watching them. When I turn my camera away it rises up to the normal 60 fps.
I don't wan't to get rid of the trails, explosions or other effects, they all work fine, ist just the damned fog Big smile

Or is that an issue with my system?
I have no "real" graphics card, it's one of the new AMD APU integrated graphic. But it works pretty well, I have almost all settings on high (except shadows) and get 60 fps all the time (which seems limited to 60 by the "intervall" setting), even in more populated areas. And even when playing on my TV in 1920*1280. It's only the fog causing that huge framerate drops.
All drivers are up to date, my dxdiag: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/45885152/DxDiag.txt

Besides that, I'm really happy with EVE on my new system, have not experienced any bug, freeze or whatever.
Maybe I should not say that, now it's going to happen... Smile

I have the exact same issue. Clouds have the single most demanding effect on my system and no graphic setting deals with it. So even with all settings as low as possible the drop in fps (from a stable 60 to ~30) while looking at clouds remain.

Needless to say it would be wonderful with an on/off option for particle clouds.

I agree with the above.

Although my PC is not a brand new one, I'm surprised an nVidia GT 520 cannot handle a simple cloud in space, when I play other games (some released in 2012) on max graphics settings... okay, not all of them, but most of them...

EVE though...

I admit, the new cloud effects are really great (look much better than used to!!), but we could use some option to turn them off or decrease detail, as they have huge impact on performance... not that I'm complaining... but it's annoying...

but still... keep up the great work :) can't wait for the launch of Retribution, especially after today's mass test :P

Agreed, missions like Blockade are a pain because of this. It still vexes me that there isn't an option to toggle gass clouds. Hopefully that might change in the future. Fingers crossed...

"Tomahawks?"

"----in' A, right?"

"Trouble is, those things cost like a million and a half each."

"----, you pay me half that and I'll hump in some c4 and blow the ---- out of it my own damn self."

In Retribution we've refactored, with the benefit of reducing the performance hit these fog/clouds give. The clouds/fog that we use will be getting more love over the course of next year also.

#1 on priority list - get rid of 2D to 3D billboard "crease" artifacts.
