Drone Hordes vs L4 Missions Tank

So my question is how comparable is the DPS from these? I have a Tengu that can run either one with no issues, I know tengu is easy mode.

What I am really wondering is I have a nightmare as well, I keep hearing how the Nightmare is a great mission boat for Amarr Space. I am just trying to figure out if I need to rework my tank or not. I can only tank about 2 waves of Drone Hordes before I have to warp out and back in the Nightmare.

As I typed this up I realized I should put my fits in EFT and get the numbers but due to work that isnt going to happen for a while.

You don't have to tank them, drones are mostly short range. Fit Tachyons, warp in at 100k, take out the turrets then kill the ships as they approach.

If you want to dish out the most damage possible, you'll generally be better off at close range using multifrequency. Sniping works, but the ISK/hour is lower.

Of course "close" range and Tach nightmare is a bit of an oxymoron. 75km is plenty close to alpha lots of drones with a tach fit Nightmare. I get around a 67km optimal range with my fit using MF with slightly less than max skills. YMMV

having done a lot of hordes nightmare is only good at isk/h if you really pimp the tank also . Gisti xl and pulse range optimal at 40km is perfect to make it. But there are cheaper and better options if you can fly. i tick more on a rattlesnake (sentries lvl 5 ) than i had on nightmare and i do have better tank and more relaxing play. Dunno about vidicator or machariel though. Mach can speed tank a bit also that makes it less pimped needed and vindi .. well thats a lot more dps on 2nd best damage done to drones .
