Comets and slicers will still be used. You have to remember that next week's patch is a buff to cruisers. So the faction frigs will not be obsolete.

What about the new caracal makes the CNI obsolete?


Yeah i know abou the patch etc was just asking about the slicer and comet as they are not getting much air time so to speak.

I remember at one time the slicer was one of the most feared frigs in game.....seems not so much now. Having said that I have no fear of any ship.....probably something I need to work on perhaps??

CNI was always slower than regular caracal anyway but with upcoming changes, they are more or less equal. CNI has more fitting room, more base shields and extra high-slot for 6th launcher or utility (medium neut works well here against silly AF tanks boosted by OGB) while regular one will be faster kiting boat with more speed and dps and higher cap recharge (but less base cap).

Poor Osprey Navy Issue though....having just finded it's niche, it gets thrown back to dustbin since it's base speed is now less than vanilla caracals. It's platform as support boat is probably taken over by CNI until such time that these cruisers get their own designated buff. CCP, some love for the ONI please. I except nothing less than base speed of 300m/s when it gets reborn Big smile

As for hookbill, it has always been and will always be awesome sauce. Killed three thrashers with it yesterday, along with incursus/tormentor pair. Only way for it to be more awesome would be if it came with old Kaalakiota black paint scheme and was on fire (and had t.ts, along with utility high-slot).

As for other frigs, I quess Slicer has lost it's appeal with fact that most boats these days fit tracking disruptor and Slicer is pretty much a one trick pony in that regard and if it comes against comet/hookbill with td, there is not much it can do without getting too close and as we all know, scrammed slicer is a dead slicer in almost all cases. Firetail is a glorified rifter but when there are better options, why fly one?

I love the navy slicer and try and find excuses to use it as much as I can, I would be flying a navy omen if the price wasn’t so ridiculous for the quality of the ship, im hoping the crusier re-balanace is effecting the navy variants as well and ill have a crusier worth spending LP on.

Faction Navy most of the time. LP is nearly free, and so are these ships. Faction navy cruisers will be put into drydock until they get buffed.

Game needs faction navy destroyer and battlecruiser too.

Imperial Navy Slicer and Harbinger would be super sexy if they kept the same colour scheme as the Apoc and Slicer.

I would but Gallente ships are garbage. Comet was really good before frig/dessie buffs. Now the closest I get is when I hop in my Vindi. (you know cause it looks like a mega:p)

Used the navy slicer a few times, but it's not effective against the minis standard Trasher setup.

When I get a navy omen I will use it for sure.

I use and have used Caracal Navy Issue, Osprey Navy Issue, Scyth Fleet Issue, Omen Navy Issue and the Stabber Fleet Issue. All with alot of success. However, I prefer the Caracal and Stabber navy faction cruisers.

We don't really talk - having been in corp with him and having him link photos of his girlfriend and himself in compromising situations I now try not to attract his attention. I can say though that he would be a lot more cheerful if she lost the excess weight.

As for why I am not kicked out Dan - it is because I know how to pvp. I offer lessons sometimes to those that need a tip, so convo me when your losses get too much.
