So, i'm currently using an Omen.
I have seen people saying that i should have an Arby or an Maller but i didn't like either. So i'm running an Omen with Pulses and drones and it's working so far on L2s, even if i have problems on some.

I have another character, on another account, and created this one to run some missions and because i love Amarr ships. My "main" is a Miner so i rarely use anything besides my Hulk there.

So right now i have two options: Navy Omen or going straight for BCs.

What should i do ? I've seen some L2s that i wouldn't be able to run as a BC so i think i'll be using the Navy Omen. Or should i just skip everything and go straight for a Harby ? :S

I saw this fit for an Navy Omen: http://jestertrek.blogspot.com.br/2011/09/fit-of-week-omen-navy-issue-missioner.html

Thanks for any info!
I'm just really confused with Amarr cruiser choices :S

that's a horrid mission fit, dont use a plate and use mission specific hardeners, not Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane II you would prob get a better tank from three specific hardeners compared to 3 Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane and a damage control. Most missions you only take 1 or two damage types so fitting for all of them is not required.

Three mission specific hardeners I think is gold, two for the main damage you will take and 1 for the alternate damage you will take - much much better than three Adaptive's, a plate and a damage control, that's more like a PvP heavy tackle fit to something like that.

and I would use Armour rep rigs/rep amount rigs not Armor Pump I

it's true the mauler is better for mission that are mostly about tanking. Arby too depending on your drone skills.

Edit:

bit more of a rant :)

that's effectively a 6 slot tank! Heck with 6 lows dedicated to tank you could tank some level4 missions
Rep
3x Adaptive
damage control
plate

you can do just as well with 3-4
Rep
2-3 mission specific hardeners

that will free up 2-3 slots for another heat sink and/or tracking enhancer

then you can also change the rigs, I think the rigs you want to look at are called auxiliary nano pump and nanobot accelerator? they will effectively improve the performance of your Repairer, watch your cap use as well, the hardeners and nanobot accelerator will increase your cap use a little, and yes so will a heat sink but they are more than worth it.. A 2nd CCC may be an option.

Ok. I've got that.
Will work on my own fit for the Navy Omen.

I had troubles with the Maller specially with smaller close ranged targets and the Omen actually helps me due to Drones. I'm already leveling drone skills because i will need them on later ships and i've tried the Arby with Hammerheads and it worked on some easier missions, i just... er.. don't like drones that much. So i might give the Maller another try.

Unless you have been following the F&ID threads about ship rebalance, basically you should just wait til after Dec. 4th to make any firm decisions. The Cruisers will all have new stats.

However, traditionally it has been Arbitrator for level 2s and Harby for level 3s. And based on what I'm seeing that will probably still be the best route. I'm not sure how the new cruisers will fare as level 3 boats for new players, even as they will be buffed shortly. A beam Harbinger will still be a great new player level 3 boat against blood raiders, sansha, and rogue drones.

So i might give the Arby a change while i finish learning BCs.
But still i think it's an ugly ship and i'm not a huge fan of drones :|

Next week the omen is getting bumped up from one of the worst cruisers to in the top 3 so stick with that.

What it said!

"We want PvE activities to require active participation and mirror PvP more closely." Stacking penalty for NPC EWAR then? Lock range under 9km from over 100 in a BS is not fun. Nor is two NPC web drones making me crawl 10m/s. PvP SW-900 x5: 75m/s.
