Hi Guys,

Just wanted to say that last nights broadcast was a huge improvement over last weekend, the commentating was great, and they new overlay on the ships makes a huge difference.

The one thing that would take everything to the next level for me, would be to get some post match interviews with the pilots.

Agreed. Having the commentators really engaged in the matches and then spending the talking-bits time going over the mechanics in depth and the tactical decisions was a good choice. It flowed much better. Bonus points for having the chat in place, because it amuses me no end.

My only suggestions would be to post an updated, filled-in bracket somewhere (I had to draw my own on graph paper to figure out how on earth the brackets were working) and to look into showing capacitor level somehow. Cap warfare is exciting, but the only cues I have to whether or not someone is being flatlined is to look for hardeners shutting off or guns not firing, and when I can't control the camera then I may not even see that. I don't know how complex that is from a coding standpoint, but even having that in the works for ATXI would be awesome.

If you do a double-elimination-esque format again for some other non-AT tournament, it would help to have the order of matches and display of where the losers of each match go into the losers' bracket from the start on your initial graphic of the brackets. Clarifying from the start if and how the last few matches are going to step outside the standard double-elimination format is helpful for us spectators too, because when I drew out all the brackets, I stared at it for a while in confusion and then realized a team had disappeared off of it entirely and I had no idea what to expect for next weekend.

Agree, while still laid-up and not able to log in and play, watching these matches keeps me fired up for actual login and playing..

The zoomed-out view should be kept in the lower right and keep the cinematic closeups and turret firing, ship views.

It's just more interesting as a viewing experience.

Sure we FW/pvp pilots know we play in max zoomed out mode and that's how it's really played, however for making it

fun to watch and grabbing my wife to look at something cool, a "bubble with dots on it" is akin to watching grass grow for an audience.

The on air talent could use some more estrogen on stage, is CCP too busy to find other personalities for their media facing, free advertising?

Keep up the improvements, when at a glance understanding of whats going on for webs/neuts is easy for others to understand, could also be audible, not just visual guys, will put it over the top.

Having an interview with captain and MVPs would be a great addition to the broadcast, but would reduce the amount of matches u can fit in one day.

Yeah, i d have to agree. This weekend was so awesome, commentators, camera and matches wise. Banning and win/loose brackets make the tournament lot more interesting.

Yeh great thread, this weekend was spectacular. Spectacular victories and some spectacular losses. I can't think of one boring match.

As for the interview after matches, that would be great, it is a shame ISD are not engaged like they are during the Alliance Tournament, but I guess that is just a time and people issue so understandable.

None the less, an awesome 2 days, awesome commentary, and awesome camera work by the Dolan !

There are logistical issues with scheduling post-match interviews with team captains and the like. I know it's a highly requested addition, though, so we'll see what can be made possible in the future.

So everyone is aware, we have a lot more time between matches for the final weekend to give teams playing the best of 3 and best of 5 matches time to react to bans. We will be using that time to run over some Retribution stuff with some great guests as well as we are looking into doing post match interviews with the teams and possibly some other things aimed at giving you a clearer picture of the people behind the teams.

I think interviews would be excellent. One of the things that really gets people invested in E-sports and sports in general are the personalities involved with them.

Let us look at League of Legends who has a massive following in E-Sports. They focus on the star players and make names of them even going so far as to have their big finals matches hosted in an arena with all of the players in person. I think Eve needs to grow and maybe even add some more minor tournaments and have a massive end one to do a big spectacular finish. Do interviews, features, profiles on some of the best and also most prolific teams, etc.

If you are serious about this then go all in on it. You have to add flash and sizzle to your steak or nobody will want to watch. I would be happy to use my experience to come up with some more ideas if you want to contact me. I worked in marketing for a bit so I have an idea on some of that stuff.

Anyways, just my .02
