There are many things to do in EvE, check out the link below:

http://swiftandbitter.com/eve/wtd/

One of the things to look out for, if you don't want to spend too much real money for the game, is to be financially stable ingame. You'd want to be able to buy your things and not be dependent on others, and this route will show you the money making side of EvE which is altogether another aspect of the game.

For battles there's the Red versus Blue (RvB) and Factional Warfare (FW), which will expose you to space combat with other gamers. There is also security missions for NPC agents, but these are against the computer so it might become repetitive after a while (though it can provide good money).

Edit: EvE has been around for quite some time now, and it has it's own share of grumpy old timers.. maybe even grumpier than your average MMO. Just mind your business and they'll leave you alone eventually.

Welcome.

Well you have already found a corp thats a good place to start.

Id suggest take care of the basics run the tutorials all of them to completion, then the sisters of eve epic arc.
After that Id naturally suggest you find a good place to start shooting other players in the face, and come dec 4th with the new crime watch and suspect flagging that will be easy to do.

Always be willing to learn and listen after that. With skillbooks they say knowledge is power, but some times good tactics and selective engagement is a more powerful weapon then any ship bonus or ship or weapon could give you.

Theres all kinds of crazy weapons in eve just make sure you know which one to bring to the fight.

Remember that eve is cyclical theres never an end to you or your character, all it will ever take is a little time an effort to get back what ever you have lost.

Noir. and Noir Academy are recruiting apply at www.noirmercs.com I Noir Academy: 60 days old must be able to fly at least one tech II frigate. I Noir. Recruits: 4:1 k/d ratio and can fly tech II cruisers.

This....

EVE is a sandbox, it's what you want it to be.

So, think of questions first, then do a search on the forums/internet, if still not answered: post them here and we will help you.

But your OP as it stands now has nothing in it that we could work with.

EVE is too big for such a general thread.

So my only advice at this point: Run the tutorials and learn the basics of EVE and when you have dedicated questions, ask them.

Hey

As a fellow new player, I found the tutorials the best place to start along with the starting missions.

It only takes a bit of research to find something that will take your fancy.

I tend to keep the EVE wiki open in the in game browser and search for anything I need to know

http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Main_Page

It really is a sandbox and there is a wealth of things to do, not a race to max level and end game content. At least that's the impression I've got so far.

if it helps, here's my small journey so far. I'm flying basic ships called frigates into low security zones to just learn mechanics and get a feel for PVP. Please note that I haven't killed anyone yet but I'm learning a lot!

This leads to lots of lost ships so I'm leaning exploration to try and pay for more ships. I'm doing all this solo so far.

In short, learn as much as you can and find what's fun for you. I'm blown away at how much information is available and how much there is to discover

Fly safe

I am consistently impressed with your posts Veda, also you share a first name with my mother :)

If you'd like any more pvp practice get in touch, i'll dispatch someone close to your age to fight you :D

EDIT : Frigates aren't basic they are just small. It's the pilot that makes the hull what it is and you will likely find yourself returning to T1 frigates time and time again in your career. The true sign of a newbro is when he believes frigates are newbro ships. Cool

If you can't afford to lose your ship then seek out the minimal risk activities. You don't wanna be stranded with a bad wallet and need to work your way back up again.

1.) There is no such thing as safe space.... Sure, highsec has concord and things to make you feel safe... but you are not safe... Concord doesn't prevent something bad from happening to you, it just punishes those that do illegally attack you. Safety is an illusion, and a determined opponent can always destroy your ship and Pod before Concord shows up! And they will if you make it worth their time (typically by carrying expensive stuff on a flimsy vessel)

2.) If it is too good to be true, it is a trap 99.9% of the time. Scamming is allowed, stealing is allowed, and your trust is a vulnerability.... Don't station trade for isk (use contracts or the market, as the station-trade window is bjorked and does work right), don't trust buy orders (they can fail), read all contracts carefully before accepting them (lots are scams).

3.) Accept losses. Something bad WILL happen to you.... and then it will happen again, and again, and again..... unless you learn from your losses. Accept those losses as the price of learning. It might seem unfair, but that's intentional. EvE is a cold, harsh mistress.

Welcome to Eve OP, be prepared to throw away any misconceptions that other games may have given you, here bigger does not always equal better and flying shiny stuff fitted with uber gear is an open invitation to deprive you of it via an explosion.

You have however started off in the right section of the forums, if you ask sensible questions on specific topics you will get plenty of help here, otherwise there is a multitude of web content just a search away that will answer any general questions you have. You've already found a corp which is a fine start, listen to your corpmates, don't be afraid to ask them for advice, it's what a corp is for, hopefully they will show you the ropes and put you on a path you will enjoy. Things in Eve are definitely best done in groups although solo is totally possible, just not as rewarding.

CCP provide very little content, 90% of the content here is player generated, the market is seeded for the most part by players, you can engage in warfare, either the pewpew kind or the economic kind, you can take part in small gang operations running around with some friends killing anything that takes your fancy, many corps (even the hardcore PvP ones) organise PvE ops which can be mining, running missions etc, some enjoy poking their noses into a wormhole and depriving another corporation of the lovely NPCs that inhabit them or even removing their home if they fancy it, you can even be a tourist and go on a sight seeing trip around New Eden, the only limits here are your imagination and determination to see it through.

In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

Welcome to the spacepixel jungle, Zackery! EVE is harsh, but very fun. EVE is what you make it, no matter what you choose to do (and EVE has so much to choose from!) o7
