Which Militia?

So, I've been looking ever longingly at the playground of my youth in this game, Fw, I even hear these days you can make a decent living out of it.

However, I'm at odds with myself. Despite joining and fighting avidly for the Minmatar Militia when I started the game two years ago, I do'nt want to return to them, they're... winning... a bit too much.

I also however, don't want to be beaten with a mace in the face, so the Amarr isn't going to be prominent, but if there is a good reason for joining I'll give it a shot.

My primary choice in mind, as you can tell by my portrait, is the Caldari State.

So, which militia would you pick and why, Amarr? Or Caldari? (Sorry frogs, I've no desire to fight for your federation.)

Any tbh.

I have found FW to be what you make of it. I was in Caldari prior to inferno but the smack was bad and I went pirate.
I have totally enjoyed my time in Amarr. We are not a militia that acts like a big well oiled machine but that suits me just fine.

Take yer pick and make it your own.

Neither. It's not which faction that matters. It's the corp you join that makes all the difference. Joining Caldari is irrelevant if you're not in a corp that is aligned with your goals and aspirations. Wanting to help an underdog is a desire many new entrants have but that's irrelevant unless you're in a proper corp that can fulfill that desire .

PS- I would agree with Taoist. The smack within Caldari is really bad.

Goodness me. We are not to smack people who send death threats over internet pixels (like Seriph, etc.) or label their enemy as a pedophile (Spiritus Draconis)?

That depends. Was this before or after you accuse them of sucking on the male genitalia as you do to all other Gallente pilots who travel through the pipes of the Federation?

I quess after because the actual war of words and mutual contempt started back in 2009 when your militia, which was loudly screaming "Lolol, plexing sucks", decided nonetheless to start sending death threats to Damar & call most caldari pilots exploiters over said plexes. Before that, the attitude on both sides was fairly casual.

Naturally there were multiple other instances (like Nennamaila incident) where gallente proved that to them, internet spaceship pixels are serious buziness.

Read this thread. Join Amarr.

The key is joining the right corp. If you join Nezmor, expect terribad trolling and terribad PVP. If you join almost any other cog in the Amarr war machine, you can earn respect from your brosufs and anti-brosufs.

Looking forward to stabbing you in the back.

It may depend on your timezone. Despite rumors to the contrary, Amarr is far from dead, and in the USTZ we typically have the upper hand. Even in EU we are building good corps with lots of new blood. The Amarr/Minmatar front is very active, and a great place for solo to medium gang PVP.

Minmatar also have some great up and coming corps. Ursha'Khan has a lot of new blood coming in, and are really bringing the fight to the USTZ, of course the old guard of LNA and IO are around and active (US and EU respectively).

But as said above, it's far less about the faction and much more about the corp. Find a corp you "click" with and fly with them.

Unlike you , who still drags up incidents from over 3 years ago like they happened yesterday and should have any sort of relevance to whats happening now.

Not serious right?

And why not? To some of us they are the fundamental turning points of Eve history, like disbanding of BoB, that define the nature of the enemy we fight (= cesspool of inbred knuckledraggers)

To the OP - please don't let Joanna Ramirez/Damar Rocarion/rest of his alts put you off of joining the Caldari militia, he's not a representative sample. There are plenty of other corps that don't emo-rage and are quite pleasant that are in FW (go to rakapas and look at all the caldari that live there, see some corps and chat about applying).
