Reduce FW plex timers *since rats need to be killed*

this is a knock on effect from the VERY awesome addition to plexing fw sites that rats must be killed.

thats great.

however it nows takes AGES to take a plex, if no players trys to kill you for trying, you are sat in a medium for 20-25 mins instead of the 15 before due to the rats, this is from a boredom perspective not a isk/hr one.

when you get an unrestricted thats maybe been ticked down a little by the 'enemy' you could be looking at 10-20 mins of killings rats for a 20-40 minute timer, the main problem with this is ONCE ALL THE RATS HAVE SPAWNED AND BEEN KILLED, YOU THEN RUN THE TIMER ALONE WITH NOTHING TO DO FOR HALF AN HOUR. This is not good.

would someone please support me on this and someone else in ccp listen, its the same situation in frigs for 15-20 mins if all the rats are spawned and the timer ticked as bit. its outrageous and incredibly boring.

half the timers now, you need to kill the rats and maybe add a way for militia members to see not only whats been plexed but whats currently being plexed.

i hope i wasn't rambling and that makes sense, great changes just a bit of feed back from the front lines.

It's annoying. There are reports from Buckingham though that the new plexes have exactly one rat spawn at a time. (Four waves?) That makes me nervous as it doesn't sound like its much of an obstacle to the return of FarmVille.

I kind of like the current timers though, means if someone has taken te effort of killing the rats they arent likely to abandon the plex. Although I get why Muad'dib might be bored. I am not to keen on warping into a plex if he's there :P You're just to scary mate.

Remember that those single rats are going to be tanked to a level equal to 2-3 rats to "make up for" there only being one, it is being done because some people apparently couldn't PvP with rats around .. problem of course is that reason became outdated as soon as eWar got the axe, so 'meh'.

Halving the time is excessive, you should be able to reduce waste to 10-20%, only fits designed for kiting faggotry with craptastic dps will experience the 50%+ described.

Personally wanted, and tried to put forth, the solution that a plex could not cap with NPC's present .. no wasted time (last spawn usually several minutes before completion) yet still achieving the goal of kicking semi-afk farmers in the balls.

But I don\ t care, because they are putting in backdoors to Metro \o/ ... that one change will make more of a difference for the Amarr/Shakorite front than all the idiocy of the last year and half combined when it comes to revitalizing the thing.

I have been on the test server and experienced one NPC per plex, only got a further spawn once so I am unsure what triggers them.

I was able to kill the battlecruiser NPC in a major in under a minute in a PVP 200 DPS Incursus so I assume they will be beefing the tank up on those things.

That doesn't sound good. It doesn't take many SP to put a 500 DPS catalyst in a major under the guns of NPCs.

So you complained about gunless frigates running them, now you're going to complain about 500 dps destroyers running them? I think you're more likely to get a fight from the destroyers, no?

With the increase in shiptoasting, the Report timer needs to be shortened.

Before the 'emergency' patch I spent at least half my time defensive plexing. Now I spend just about all of my time offensive plexing and getting fights. Amarr is constantly running systems up to 50, 60, and 70% contested before the Minmatar respond. And occasionally - oops- they don't respond fast enough and we get the system.

Everyone on the Amarr side is plexing. We may be outnumbered but it feels like after a six month diet we're lean and hungry whereas the Minmatar have grown fat and lazy. You're damn right I don't want to go anywhere close to the old way.

I don't know whether you necked your Minmatar plexing alts and now cannot see that the peak numbers in Militia channel are down from 370 to 180, but it's true (at least in my TZ's). That's a lot of alts either left Minmatar or deep sixed and left idle due to the hotfix - which IMO is awesome. So, yes, Minmatar are struggling to adjust behaviour.

Part of this is, I think, months of seeing Amarr plexing and not having to care. So what if the system is vulnerable, nothing ever happens and there's no oint chasing the alts out, is the habit Minmatar is in. So now you guys are actively plexing and taking systems and defplexing, Minmatar is still carrying on as before.

Eventually people will wake up.

As for the OP; I think we'll just have to wait a week and see what the result is. The current mechanic is an interim kludgefest, everyone knows it, and CCP admitted it. December 5th, things will change again, so we'll have to see what happens.

I have, however, predicted that instead of lone AFKers, people will just bring DPS gank boats for farming. Seems like I was magically prescient. Yes, there's going to be farmers. They'll just be easier to gank. Build yourself your bridge and get over the river of tears.

Talkin about my latest experience about a week ago at Buck, most Minmatar NPCs on plexes use missiles also. I don't think it will be easy for a destroyer to tank against that. I could be able to speed tank with a Hookbill, however Battle Cruisers had decent tank so that I had trouble killing them.

I think we have to wait for new cruisers to come ... many of them will be ideal plexing boats ....

I agree completely, i want to plex now but the times have increased way too much with the addition of killing the rats and i dont think its unfair to ask for timers to be lowered as a result, i dont mind killing all the rats early and having a nice easy 10 minute wait after that though.

exactly, now consider defensive plexing, no rats to kill but OMG bored bored bored...

perhaps a pacman mini game to play while you plex, its really that boring you need somthing else to do, and that my freinds, is NOT what you should have to do in a GAME to enjoy it....

Unfortuantely timers are kind of a necessary evil, i find it hard ro imagine a better system without them. Maybe they could introduce the ship spinning counter in space? I dont think making the activity any more interactive would make it any better and providing you have a good group of friends on comms it becomes reasonnable enough i suppose.

It should have a 12,000 baud pr*n downloader simulator. The level of tittilation would scale exactly with the rewards offered:
Minor = 10 mins = nipple
Medium= 20 mins= bellybutton
Major = 30 minutes = ladyboy

I do plexes in vindicators and such, and still have problems with killing the rats in a fashion that allows for time efficiency. Reducing plex time to account for the increase in actual activity needed would be nice. Also, can we are make missions easier so i can farm k?

I think more important is to get rid of that stupid tier system and if things go well get some poeple with brain into command in CCP and let them work on viable lowsec concept.

Plexes are boring if the other guy doesn't show up to fight. Just like POS bashes, IHUBs bashes, whatever are boring if the other side doesn't show up to fight, or anything in Eve where the other guy doesn't show up.

I have to agree to Muad in this post, since you now have to spend time shooting at npc's to even run the timer you should defiently cut the timer in half. It gets boring when no one comes in to fight you and you need to sit there for a decent amount of time doing nothing.
