Hi folks,
Not a 100% sure where to stick this, but I guess this is as good a place as any.

OK, to my little problem. Being one of Eve's 'older farts', next year I get to retire fully cpme the summer (have been doing a 'work down' for the last two years).

Anyway, the plan is, my daughter and family are going to take over the house, and I plan to spend the next 4 -5 years tootling about the rivers and canals of the UK in my 35 foot narrowboat.

So, my question is simple, Can I do that, and keep on playing Eve?

I know that they are starting to roll out 4G. (or is it G4 I can never remember) But after seeing how rubbish 3G is, I am not holding my breath there.

Any thoughts, feelings and suggestions will be more then welcome

I play EVE on 4G in the US, even shooters work fine. Using a mobile hot-spot as data plans are better than on cellphones including no overage charges. Even after cap, runs EVE fine. Only real concern would be coverage, but you can google coverage maps for where you are, including tower locations and such.

I'm in it for the money

Satellite IS fail. Even 3G is far better. Heck, even dial-up is better than satellite as far as for playing games.

Well it is Eve, if I remember right then we have a networking architecture that is quite robust to timedelays.

I don't think that word will ever stop being funny.

The amount of bandwith EVE uses is laughable. Even 3G should be plenty and I actually hear good things about the 4G network that is being developed for Britain.
