Please don't move asteroids around in missions from patch to patch Evil

In "Infiltrated Outposts", a level 4 mission, there used to be a goodly supply of veldspar and scordite. About a year or two ago, all the rocks in the first room could be reached by boosted hulks on the way from the warp-in to the acceleration gate. Then someone moved the biggest rock about 80km away from the warp-in (why? slip of the mouse, perhaps?). Now someone's moved it back, but too close. This asteroid is intruding into the flight path (well, the collision box is intruding, the asteroid looks fine).

So please, when moving objects around in mission spaces, pay attention to the direct route between warp-in and any objectives. Pay special attention to asteroids since their collision boxes are much larger than the physical object.

I would've thought that anything mixing up and making missions more interesting without massively drastic changes would be welcomed. When you can rely on autonomic responses to run a mission, its time for a change....Blink

If only there was a way to manually fly your ship around obstacles in your path...
Sure, it sucks that it adds a bit more time to the mission, but really, with as much wrong with pve in this game, this is what you're going to complain about?

With the increase in shiptoasting, the Report timer needs to be shortened.

I've not noticed moving rocks...and it really isnt hard to fly around them rather then Meta-game to get them moved away again.

While I'm hear I would also like to ask CCP to write some more missions, while doing lvl1 missions back when I was a new piliot i seemed to rotate between the same three or four missions, mabye I should start doing missions for diffrent factions but still, one faction should have more then the same few missions to choose from.....If I have to rescue that Damsel one more time I swear I'm going to leave here in that Brothel for being such an idiot.

The issue of obstacles in the obvious flight path is exacerbated in my instance due to using an older computer: by habit I will zoom out really far to prevent dust clouds and other objects melting my video card and CPU.

So perhaps the solution is to get a computer which can handle playing the game with the camera zoomed in close enough to actually see my ship.

And I'll take this opportunity to point out that space scenery has changed between being collidable objects and being ethereal (i.e.: you can fly your ship through it) over the last couple of years. Running L4 missions in assault ships is especially dangerous when scenery changes from being fly-through to collidable overnight (especially if you have to zoom out some way to prevent meltdown of the graphics card).

I applaud CCP's attempts to nerf auto-play 'bot' and 'boxing' capability

This topic should be in the Missions subforum if you want the appropriate DEVs to see it.

I'm sorry, in a public forum, you get public responses. If the OP wanted to speak directly to a DEV, they should have mailed one. If it was a bug, then it should be reported as a bug, using the tools CCP gives you, which again, is not a post on a public forum.

I don't see how a rock being in your path is a bug or glitch. As I said, it's annoying, much like PVE in general.

With the increase in shiptoasting, the Report timer needs to be shortened.

Obviously anyone who plays zoomed out is a bot. Your logic is irrefutable.

Indeed. PvE is boring enough without the need to add giant rocks with a HUGE* hitbox in the path. Especially in a already ****** mission (Rogue Drones, you know?)

*The hitbox is almost twice the size of the rock itself.

This is most likely not the case but I can help but feel this is a "CCP stop moving stuff around you are messing up my macros!"

This really, it feels weird to accuse CCP of well thought out planning if it could also be explained as "random **** ups".

1. Warp in
2. Kill stuff
3. Warp out
4. ?
5. Profit

Would have thought random placement of cheese in missions would:

A) be feasible as very skilled devs work at CCP
B) inject some variety to the first 6 months of a players experience (after 6 months, what? you say people grind missions day after day, in an MMO with nonconsensual pvp? Guess they are telling us how fun that aspect is so generate more of this)
C) tax the pod pilot rather than have them work by rote)
D) be worth a bullet point on a presentation / box / review

I'd be tempted to try them again.
