Ninjutsu will never die, they teach that which is taught to countless others who employ stealth as their tactic. Though we do not use blades or navy blue, special forces like the seals and paratroopers continue to evolve that which is a ninja in this modern age.

Who's the more foolish the fool or the fool who replies to him?

I agree wityh you there Nylith

The grandmaster also said it had no place in the mordern world, i disagree. Scientists are actually looking back when it comes to medicin, picking up old cures.
As many of the new medicins are causing resistant stains of bacteria, many of the old ninja cures could help.

There is actually an American based group that teaches Ninjutsu and focuses on the disciplines as traditionally handed down in Japan.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Modern_Schools_of_Ninjutsu

I'd forgotten the name, but he's the first one mentioned in that article. Stephen K. Hayes, disciple of Masaaki Hatsumi, Founder of Bujinkan Martial Arts Organization.

Anyway, he is presumably still teaching in the US, and from what I read when I was younger, his teachings are mostly traditional Ninjutsu, or appear to be. I have no idea honestly as I've never done more than read a bit about it, but that particular book was interesting at the time.

Interestingly, I don't think the art has died, so much as the ability to claim a traditional connection to it. History gets clouded, especially with a few wars and changes in government. It's quite possible that even those who could once have claimed a traditional lineage can no longer prove it.

Either way, it is what it is.

Erm.... bear with me a minute while I think this through.

A couple of guys crawl out of the wood work claiming to be all but the last Ninjas. What's wrong with this picture?

I would have thought that pretty high up on the list of priorities for an organisation as secretive as a Ninja clan supposedly is is NOT TALKING ABOUT IT TO THE PRESS!

How ******* secret can you be if you'll give soundbytes about the decline of your illegal organisation of professional murderers to any passing journalist?

I reckon this is all me arse.

A true Ninja would be sat at home watching these wannabes make twats of themselves and giggling.

It's like all these mockney gangster types that pop up every time someone does a UK documentary on the Kray twins or one of the frequent "Britains' hardest Man" type puff pieces.

I suspect this is merely the oriental equivalent of Bermondsey Dave bigging himself up on Sky for the entertainment of the great unwashed. ("They woz always very good to their muvver tho' ").

It would seem that the UK doesn't have the monopoly on also-ran hard twats by (self) association attention whoring self-abusers.
