When a match comes down entirely to which ship runs out of cap 1st, it's impossible to know what happened after the match. You literally have to ask the people in the fight what happen before a report on the match can be written up.

Somehow only I seem to see this as nonsense. Not to mention a waste of time.

Show capacitor on the UI along side ship Hp. Or a long line below all 3 health bars. Something.

When new or non-eve players watch eve online matches, there is now way they could know what capacitor is. If they watch LOL, SC2, GW2, ect. the players mana/energy/cap is clearly displayed for the viewer. In fact it's one of the biggest parts of Esports that gets fans on their feet.

Even if you don't agree with me I'm going to do my best to convince you otherwise. See because I wouldn't just stop at showing capacitor, I would suggest the capacitor bars clearly show where peak recharge rate is on each ship by having a light mark on the capacitor bar.

It would be exciting to watch a ship being nueted or overheating reaching the peak recharge time. I say that because as a player, watching my capacitor while in a fleet fight is what gets my heart pumping, not just my Shield/Armor/Hull. And I really do hope most of you out there can agree with me on at least this. Watching your cap drop to 0, you know your dead. That's a feeling that I believe is missing from watching other people play eve.

So this might just fall on deaf ears, or I might just sound like a ranting madman. Or hell you might not just give a **** about the New Eden open. But hey, if you do think what I'm saying makes sense and would improve your viewing experience, then reply! click like!

And if you think I'm full of ****, then I'd like to hear about that too, and why you think showing the capacitor in the alliance tournament isn't actually as big of deal as I'm making it out to be.

He is obviously right. To give an perspective from "inside":

During TEST vs Raiden. all you heard was "Bhaalgorn neuts are powerful". What you can't see is how hard it's neuting what and how it's affecting the ships.
It turns out that the neuts mitigated a lot of one of our two Kronoses damage. He literally had to time his cap injections with his shooting so he could fire his guns. Thats not the only reason, wrongly placed webs by Raiden. and tracking disruption also played a role, but you, the viewer didn't even know about the cap warfare.

See https://kb.pleaseignore.com/?a=kill_detail&kll_id=624933 50k damage from one Kronos, only 10k damage from the other. It's ridiculous that my Enyo almost dealt the same damage as a Kronos :P

Had Raiden. mitigated both Kronoses damage equally or better the entire match could have turned around.

I also like to suggest adding a marker to sucessful ECM, not only applied ECM but I believe that belongs into another thread.

It would be nice for the tourney, and even better if CCP could add it to Tranquility. A blue bar at the bottom of a locked ship icon, showing cap, would be cool. It's a critical stat, and one we shouldn't have to fit a ship scanner to see.

Agreed on the tourny interface, but not on general TQ implementation.

What if just equipping a ship scanner put it up on your UI? So having one less mid, allows you to see the cap on targets you have locked? And when you don't have one equipped that part of the UI is hidden.

heh?

Supported - show capacitor information on the tournament UI.

Moar bars!
