I cannot find an answer to the question: if a corporation member is attacked, is it possible for other corporation members to protect him? Will the attacker be marked as a legal target for other memebers of this corporaton?

Depends on what happened that allowed your corp member to be attacked.

More info please....

If he attacs your corpmate he will get GCC, as long as he has GCC everyone and their mother can shoot him.

I somehow feel you are not telling us the truth here though Blink I think YOU are going to attack someone, and wonders if hes corpmates can kill YOU Blink

What is GCC?

No. I want to understand if gathering in a corporation will help to protect friends from rogue aggression. Because otherwise if someone is attacked, then other player even being nearby cannot protect him from aggression. So I want to know if gathering in a corporation will grant its members right to protect each other from outside aggression.

IF your corpie stole in hisec, then you cannot help him. IF someone stole from your corpie in hisec, all corp members can help. IF your corpie is attacked in lowsec, you can help (because A, it's lowsec, and B, that probably means the attacker has GCC, the criminal flag identifying them as a legal target for a set period of time). IF your corpie is suicide ganked, there is little help you can provide anyways in terms of response, but the ganker would also have GCC. IF your corpie is attacked by wartargets, your corp members can help.

Google EVE aggression mechanics and start reading!

There's nothing worse than an EVE player, generally considered to be top of the food chain in the MMO world, that cannot smacktalk with wit and coherency.

Yes, I know that I can attack anybody in lowsec. But then I will become the same criminal.
The question was: does corporation membership grant legal rights to protect other corp. member?

Bring your corp mining to Tama, Onatah or Suj and I'll be happy to give you show you the GCC mechanic in action.

You have to understand there are circumstances here where the answer is YES and also where the answer will be NO!

If your corporation is wardecked, then yes, the corporations members are all legally allowed to kill the wardeckers after a 24h period.

Other than that there is no "corporate" legal right to attack anyone.

GCC = Global Criminal Countdown. Anyone with GCC can be shot by anyone (so no differnce between being in a corp or not).

To add to what he said, you, as a corporation, can shoot anyone who has stolen from a member in your corporation (i.e. taken something from a can in space). But the mere fact that someone is attacking a corp member does not give other corp members the right to defend them, the right to attack is independent of that. If someone attacks your corp member in lowsec, they will most likely get GCC, which means you can attack them without getting GCC yourself. But it's not a "defend the corp" mechanic, it's a "kill criminals for free" mechanic. As stated above, the only mechanic where you really have this is the wardec mechanic.

The Agression time and how they work are very tricky, so this is not a YES / NO question.

I am gona use High as an exampel and this is only until next patch when this will change.

If your corp mate, take from a wreck or can not marked white or blue, he will be flagged as a criminal for the corporation he stole from, and you wont be able to help him.

If someone stole from you corporation you can help him.

Someone stole from your corporation, and one of you deside to shot the guy 5 minutes later this guy will exstend his 15 min agression. This means that 15 min after he stole he can undock and shot the one guy who have the extended timer without you will be able to help him.

Dont know if this make sence.

This agression time are the same in 0.1 - 0.4 system, the different here is that you can deside to help him regardless and get Global Crimal Counter (GCC) and just shot the guy. After this you warp to a safe spot away from gate and station guns. In empire (High sec) concord will kill you.

Thanks! I think I got the idea.
