Always a pleasure Smile

After pretty much 10 years as a very active roleplayer in EVE as a Gallente Loyalist, Caldari Loyalist (Liberal & also Patriot at one point) and pirate (Gurista Loyalist), my brain is kind of stuffed full of EVE's prime fiction and chunks of technical backstory.

Always happy to help out if people have queries, I spent a lot of my years in EVE helping people to write their character back stories and biographies, as well as producing my own line of player fiction, so it's something I hold very close to my heart.

Big smile

He's a known [lol]RP player, and dastardly piwate (and also second only to CCP as party organizer).

So Falcon has too much positive history to be judged as CCP Community Dev yet.

With that baggage, he has to do even better ...

That bastard monk Eterne still leads the pack of the Community Padowans.

CCP Greyscale: As to starbases, we agree it's pretty terrible, but we don't want to delay the entire release just for this one factor.

What can I say, I'm flattered.

Keep it on topic, though Blink

If you join the channel "OOC" in game, there are a lot of awesome roleplayers that hang out there and I'm sure they'll be happy to help you with regards to putting together a bio and character history.

We have some very knowledgeable and skilled roleplayers in EVE Cool

Regarding the 'retconned' soft-cloning bit;

Considering how much RP this would invalidate, not least because of how many player characters would be dead who've been walking around fit and healthy for a while now, and the fact that it appears to have been handled quite whimsically, I doubt it's going to stick.

Standard cloning :

Anyone with the money to afford it can do this, and have a replica grown and a neural backup of themselves stored. A lot of famous people, people with insane wealth, political figures and suchlike do this, effectively like life insurance. Some Capsuleers also do this as a fail safe in case of capsule hardware failure or death out of pod.

Regardless, this has the disadvantage of amnesia that reaches from the point of death back as far as the last memory imprint stores up to, so fairly regular neural scanning to keep the records up to date is required. The soft scanning process is also far more lengthy, lasting up to an hour and way more inefficient in terms of time commitment.

If you want to get technical we retconned out the official references to that on the wiki articles.

In the same respect, it's still used by most RPers in game. Blink

Yeah, with respect, we'd really appreciate it if you guys kept softcloning in. Removing it is somewhat awkward for a number of reasons, and we found this decision upsetting. I appreciate that this has been recognised by CCP.
