What's the minimum wage in your country? What's the minimum wage in the US? That could help you answer your question.

Make it idiot-proof and someone will make a better idiot.

Euhm yes? you covert GTC to plex.. so every GTC gives you 2 plex..

No, as a GTC isn't a PLEX

Then you convert the GTC and you get 2 PLEX but then you don't have the GTC Straight

This totally depends on exchange rates. Currently european players may be at a disadvantage. But there were also times, where you could get plex at a rate equal to a months sub in a yearly payment scheme.

At those rates, buying a gtc was very attractive, because you had comparable costs and high flexibility.

It doesn't depend on exchange rates, it's taxes.

The European prices include a VAT which the USD prices do not - European countries generally off-set this with an import tax (which equals their domestic VAT) to make sure that their local businesses are not at an disadvantage compared to foreign imports.

As online purchases of digital goods are not tracked/declared for tax purposes in any automatic way, European EVE players would have to list the GTCs they buy at an US store in their tax declaration (and then pay the import tax) - something they generally do not do.

tl;dr OP is advertising tax fraud - which is unsurprisingly more profitable than paying taxes.

It is because of Greece and Spain. Kick them out of the EU and you will be paying the same price.

Oddly CCP does not have sympathy for bankrupt countries.

Posting in a stealth "nerf the European economy" thread?

10/10 good sir. On a side note, if there is a catastrophic Greek exit from the euro, what impact will this have on CCP Plex prices. Presumably hyper-inflation of the Greek currency means we could be looking at prices well north of 5-600 million Drachmas in Jita.

TL;DR WHEN IS CCP GOING TO STEP IN AND CONTROL THE PRICES OF PLEX IN GREECE?!?!?!?!? Also, nerf minerbumping.

Seriously? Different prices in different regions for the same product, big surprise... There is nothing unusual about this, in fact, it is to be expected for a multitude of reasons.

Unlikely. In fact, I might expect the opposite.

So no they aren't. That's besides the point though. The point is they aren't the same items and they're sold in different places, so their price is not governed by the same rules(Can I get a huzzaa for taxes \o/) and they're paid for in different currency. It's perfectly ok to buy them for cheap though. CCP will get their money either way.

which part of yes dont you understand? GTC are plex you convert them on your account managment page.. There is no difference other that you get 2 plex for 1 GTC

an GTC cost 34.99 USD
and plex for someone in europe cost 19,95- eur

so 2 plex which is the same as 1 GTC with no black Friday offer costs 39,9 euro which is 51.09 dollars

I'm with you, it's pretty simple. the black friday "sale" is still more expansive than buying 2 plex with a GTC.

people really struggling with this? both cost cash, both give you plex, both can then be traded in game. simple.

You can't compare prices in the EU and US that way economically. There is no price/wage pairity between the EU and US. While people in the US might make $50k USD for a certain job, it's likely that those in the EU will make $65k USD for the same job and then the prices would be higher in the EU, of course. It's a macroeconomics thing.

We live in a global economy and the arguments against the fact that they are always screwing over EU players these days are BS arguments that might have been viable before the internet.

Does it matter?

Black Friday is just another US specific commercial endeavour. Offers on that day are usually not better than what the conscientious consumer can find, the only thing setting it apart is that "almost" all vendors partake.

Since you have already found a better offer, what is the point of the thread?

@UK adoption: Very recent and still hasn't taken root in earnest. Tradition, when it comes to kicking off holiday shopping, in northern Europe has moved towards entire weeks with high-street sales early on (ie. before Dec 7th) to maximize profits as stress levels decrease the further from the main event one is (non-stressed consumers buy less impulse but generally for more ISK overall).

If you are bitching now, just wait until the Euro crashes and you need a wheel barrel full of them to purchase one time card.

In this day and age, it is ieasier to simply accept you are being scammed at every turn. Just throw money at things untill they go away. Works for 90% of western countries.
