My eve client was working fine until the extended downtime the other day. But now it seems do disconnect saying the socket was closed.
My client had been 100% stable beforehand. Anyone else having any problems? Or have any ideas whats causing it?
Ive rebooted by router and I have nothing else running in the background.

The only time I ever got socket error was when I failed to log in on the log in page for more than 5 minutes or so.
In game I just lose connection and it says the connection was lost.

Looking forward to the 4th when they add a PvE 15 minute timer and everyone is losing their ships to disconnect. I'm sure the records will show nothing.

Are you connecting via wifi? I know my laptop disconnects from EVE all the time unless I hardwire it straight to my router.

This happened to me constantly for the 6 months I was staying with a friend with a BAD Internet company. PingPlotter (freeware during trial, but works after 30 days with nag messages) allowed myself and CCP to determine that the d/c's were the fault of the Internet Provider.

Again, PingPlotter, and send saved results in a Petition to CCP to see what's up.

Once you've eliminated all the likely causes, you need to start talking to CCP.

But sometimes the dice just roll badly for a few after an update. I went once for six months not being able to get my connection to stabilize. Funny that it broke right after an expansion and was gone right after the next one.

Once I got past the low level CS people, the techs were pretty helpful but we never did find the problem. MMOs are a complicated business. Could be that your computer just doesn't like something in that update and you may never find it.
