Don't bring history if you dont consider all the facts.

Also sentences like : People from X country are [whatever] , are basically stupid as heck.

Deal with it.

Couldn't agree with you more.
People judging entire nations on isolated facts should judge themselves first. By the way these people are American most of the time. Why ?

Because American people are not really open to the rest of the world, the fact that most of them only speak English and that half of them has never left the USA say it all. Criticizing France is easy, have you ever been to France ? Have you ever even left your country ?

So much hate against France for refusing to be part of the Iraq War. By the way what was the point of this war ? We still don't get it and it seems like it was a big mistake of big president George W. Bush so France was definitely right. By the way France has never had a President with -100 IQ.

France has a great history and many Americans have without a doubt French ancestors, it is not possible to compare the USA to France since the USA history in the world probably really begins with WW1 ; they also have never been involved in a major war on their soil.

USA or France, it doesn't matter, we are coming from Europe.

As a Brit it pains me to do this but I shall weigh in with a defense of the French,

Verdun WWI

for those who don't know:

In WWI Germany besieged the French in Verdun with the aim of inflicting massive casualties to knock the French out of the war. The resulting battle saw the French lose 600,000 men, The Germans 500,000 the French held. The Somme was planned and begun to draw German troops and relieve Verdun, again it was the French who achieved their objectives on day one while we brits took three months to achieve our initial objectives on the field. The combined casualties of Verdun and the Somme did break the French army but it never surrendered and the casualties (in excess of 1,000,000,000 Germans killed) they inflicted on Germany allowed the British with the support of the US to break through and defeat the Germans.

As for WWII the French and British misjudged the speed and direction of The German advance and it can (and indeed has) be argued that the surrender was forced upon the French as a result of the British fleeing the continent via Dunkirk. While the British fought on against Germany they did not have an occupying army on their shores and immediately after Dunkirk only one member of the cabinet opposed an immediate British surrender had German troops ever succeeded in setting foot on the British mainland it is likely Britain would have surrendered as quickly as the French.

Christ that hurts to say.

you just failed Physics 101 - vaccum is a very good insulator.

Even if vacuum held insulating properties it wouldn't matter because your naked body would still be exposed, allowing heat to transfer out of your body via the skin. Besides, you would die of asphyxiation before freezing -- which I noted.

Also, I wouldn't rush to judge others seeing as you likely wouldn't pass middle school english with your level of reading comprehension (of a fictional piece, no less!) and an interesting way of spelling "vaccum" Roll

Thinking about this the cause of death imho is more likely to be the cold (absolute zero) while there would be asphyxiation to consider, the oxygen deprived brain can survive for several minutes but...

What about explosion? Lack of external pressure plus internal pressure = ?

It would take far longer to freeze to death than to suffocate. Space is cold, but not absolute zero (that's technically unobtainable). Being a vacuum, it transfers heat very poorly, but it's not a perfect vacuum either. Decompression and embolism from gases in the blood turning to vapor in your veins would be your main problem.

Also, good on OP for trying to learn.

Finally, there are about 2000 years of recorded French battles. Long before most countries were a cell in their dad's ballsack.

Seems the Oxygen = lose consciousness and your blood would boil and freeze with your internal organs expanding rapidly...

I'm English. I love france but have found the general french person to be a complete arse! But that may have something to do with me being english and they seem to disliek us as much we them.

However I have a nice conversation on a French airbase once when I was over ther for some weapons testing.

The french airman was bragging about battles the french had won. I admitted then had won a few decent battle but I just had to point out that the 'french' had only won one WAR.

The french civil war because both sides were french!

Oh yeah.....they lost the ensuing fight as well.Twisted

Please, if you use history in (as) an argument, know the facts. The US did have a major war (war of Southern Secession 1861 -1865) (please spare me the semantic argument about calling it the civil war). I believe that Gettysburg had been one of the bloodiest battles ever (as in the entire history of mankind) when it occured.

Also the US history decidedly did not begin with WWI. Just to name one very improtant example google the so called Monroe Doctrine, which set up a number of future wars in the 20th century.

To the OP, I too feel that way when PvPing, good attitude! Let your anger guide you. Become the Imperium. Strike back!

Starting at the top, the war between US states is not in fact the first conflict fought on US soil by the US. There is ofc the war of 1812 to be considered.

This war saw 2 sides of great interest at sea an initial series of US victories
Constitution vs Guerriere
United States vs. Macedonian
Constitution vs. Java
Constitution vs. Cyane and Levant (Cyanne a jackass frigate and Levant a sloop)

Prior to a switch in fortunes followning the Shannon's (Cpt. P. Brooke) defeat of Chesapeake (Cpt. Lawrence? not sure) off Boston. Still an impressive record considering the US navy's small size (19 ships at the outset) and lack of Line of Battle ships as opposed to the vast British Navy of the time.

On the land a series of British victories before a catastrophic defeat in New Orleans.

This war was vital in establishing 2 things:

a) that the US could now defend it's territory in formal battles
b) that the holding the US would prove too costly a venture both financially and in manpower for the British to consider, especially at a key time in Britain's wars with Napoleonic France.

As for American History starting during/after WWI that is of course rubbish. Although America as a major power could be argued to have begun after WWI's financial impact on the European hegemony. While they were not considered a power during WWI's peace negotiations (American protest over the punitive clause imposed by Britain and France on Germany were simply ignored). The next few decades see an increase in US power leading up to and demonstrated during WWII. Culminating in their intervention (or lack of) during the Suez crisis after WWII (effectively the end point of Great Power gunboat diplomacy.)

Don't know what I am arguing here but I guess I can claim to have read my history :)

Oh and in case someone felt my use of the term Jackass Frigate offensive or disrespectful of the conflict in question...

Jackass Frigate was a term used by the British navy of the time to refer to the smaller outdated frigates usually rated between 26 and 32 guns usually of a 12 pound bore (although some mounted carronades a shorter range but larger bore cannon) an example (and historical ship) being the HMS Surprise in the movie, and series of books, Master and Commander. These ships were remnants of previous wars of which 5 survived in service at the outset of the 1812 conflict and were severely outgunned by the modern frigates most of which were rated as 38 gun ships mounting 18 pound bore cannon, although the americans also possesed 3, 44 gun 24 pound frigates.

The Jackass frigates were considered, at the time, to be a bad ship to command as they could not realistically expect to engage the larger, more powerful ships of their class and thus gave their captains almost no chance of earning distinction while at the same time due to their nominal class it would have been dishonourable for these ships NOT to engage another frigate even though heavily outclassed.

By 1813-1814 the Jackass frigates were in fact either sold out of the British navy or dismantled, which I personally feel sad as I have felt for a long time their was something almost romantic about these underdogs during this conflict.

Enjoy this while you can cos an ISD is bound to be here any second with the not relevant stamp, I hope they at least comment it was interesting :)

I seem to recall Eve-lore explaining that as soon as the pod starts to rupture, the clone inside is administered a powerful poison which will almost immediately kill it, so while the original tale was indeed riveting, it wouldn't happen.
Instead, the corpse would drift out into space and freeze solid. No dramatic moment of death, I'm afraid.
