You do know that 95% of this game is pvp right?

Proof?

Trading, Mining, MIssioning, Spying, Manufacturing, Hacking, Exploring, PI, R&D, Skill training, scamming etc.

How many ways is there to PVP (Engage in combat and the possibility of losing a ship)?

Solo, Blob and FW.

And you NEED all of the above PVEing to engage in the above PVP. Not the same vice versa.

Actually you do need the vice versa. If the PvP isn't blowing up ships and modules en mass, how long do you think it would take for the market to get completely saturated with everything?

Trading is a form of PvP as you're competing against other players, knowingly or not. When you mine a rock, that is ore that someone else can't mine. When you mission you're bringing new isk in to the game & using that isk to buy stuff, which affects other people. When you manufacture stuff people will use that stuff to affect the gameplay of others. When you hack a site, you've removed the ability for another player to hack it. I could go on, but one would think that you get the point by now.

Carebear is an irrelevant term. Carebears PVP as much as anyone, providing they are undocked. Their PVP goal is to avoid combat, if they are successful they "win" at PVP, as much as a gazelle wins at PVP by avoiding lions. If a lion fails to catch a gazelle it loses at PVP. It is like Poker, you win hands by making the correct decisions, not by taking down the pot every hand.

I think i figured out why there's so many less people posting here now.

All the 'carebears' got tired of defending themselves and dealing with this crap, so there's just thread after thread of PvP circle jerks now.

About the only things in Eve that can't be classified as PvP are ship spinning and possibly skill training, although skill training can have an indirect effect via increased efficiency and reduced costs for industrialists. Virtually everything else that can be done affects another player in one way or another.

Even as a carebear you effect other people. Mining deprives another miner of resources, if you do it right you can screw with and annoy them by making their mining ops inefficient. Trading is perhaps the most brutal non combatant PvP there is, you can cause another trader to lose billions with a single click. Mission running ties in with trading & industry, bounties and mission rewards get used to buy modules and ships, salvage and loot gets sold on to traders who then reprocess, sell on or produce with it. Industrialists are competing with other industrialists to shift their products, etc. etc.

I believe it was Ruby Porto that had EvE = Everybody vs Everybody as his sig, he was right.

In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

Carebears mined the ore that your ship was built with. Carbears built the ship you are flying. Care bears bought the plex you were selling.

Considering the blue-ball rears it's ugly head in half the 0.0 fleet fights, and structure bashing doesn't really count as PvP.....

I seriously doubt that 95% is anywhere close to correct. Roll

Not to mention, as a Goon, you should recognize the reality of PVP needing a heavy industrial base to supply it. Holding Sov requires countless man-hours of carebearism....good luck on selling anyone but yourself on this game being 95% PVP.... Cool

I am not, nor will I ever be...Nicky Yo.... The question you should ask is.....When will they release the NICKY!

I've stated clearly that I am referring to ship combat. I did this in anticipation of your response.

Using your logic farming IRL is a "hostile act" because you are farming land someone else could have farmed, and you are growing crops, thus competing with other farmers....wut??

Because most of people who prefer industry, pve, weak interaction with pvp community are inside game, they more online in game than in forum ,just because they enjoy more game than other, in fact most of them visits GD only on occasion, while most of forum - pvp - warriors are adicted to forum and whining about people who realy play EvE.

EvE isn't game, its style of living.

I'd say it's higher than that.

Did you include ship spinning?
