Racial SP Splits

I'm currently a 2-month old player barely 1.5months into his INT/MEM plan.

Now, upon hearing about the racial split for both Destroyers and BCs, is it recommended to remap just to PER/WIL just for this?

Training BC 0 -> V alone would take 15 days longer on this INT plan than it would on a PER plan.

*** I'm currently leaning towards NOT REMAPPING, but getting Destroyers and BCs to IV as 'tier-unlocking' skills, and only training the respective racial V skills after the change for the racial Interdictor/Command Ship I wish to fly.

You could remap to INT = PER, 24i 24p 17m 17w 17c

Or something more general. I personally don't like specialized remaps, unless you know for sure you won't be training anything else for a year. I had the same general mapping from day 1 to about 2.75 years later.

My alts tend to use INT > PER = MEM, 23i 21p 21m 17w 17c, so I never need to remap them [well, not for 3 years so far]. With +4 implants it does over 2000 SP/hour (my lower limit) on the vast majority of skills.

For what it is worth, I have a science alt that is INT > MEM, and has trained:
* Buzzard (Caldari Frigate 5)
* Tengu (Caldari Crusier 5 + heavy missiles skills + subsystems 5)
* Basilisk (Logistics 5)
* Falcon (Recon 5)
* Caldari Freighter 5 (Advanced Spaceship Command 5 + Caldari Industrial 5)
It may not be efficient, but I didn't know I'd be training some of those, and it wasn't worth it to remap twice just for one ship. I'll probably train BC 5 & Destroyers 5 as-is on him too. It is "only" 15 days longer (one level 5 science skill).

What implants are you using? If you have the skill/isk for them, the +5 implants for per/will will help cut some of the time off those skills without having to remap. Make a separate jump clone for them and then once your done park it someplace safe, then when you do remap to per/will you'll have it ready and waiting for a really nice boost to training.

I just remapped once, dumped CHA as low as possible, then spread the points evenly between Int, Mem, Per and Wil. That's not too efficient in terms of SP/hour, but it does mean I can train whatever I want, and change plans whenever I feel like it. I think that kind of freedom has sufficient value to be worth the reduced SP/hour rate.

Thanks for the replies people.

I've decided against remapping since the days lost on the remap (~140 days assuming a 200+ day INT/MEM Plan) just isn't worth the extra 15 days of BC/D training.

Furthermore, I've realized that training BC/D and then carrying on with the INT/MEM plan actually puts me near my 2013 timed remap reset, which is awesome since I actually end up saving 2 bonus remaps (opportunity cost wise).

Off topic: Does anyone know the FONT type used for the forums? I think Arial comes pretty close but still isn't it.

I would generally advise against new players taking specialised attribute remaps. A PER/INT remap is almost always much more suitable.

I have to agree. The "best" remap for a new player is +7/+7 into per and int.

i prefer maxing out per over an even split but yeah, definitely some form of per/int mapping for new players.
