WIS and your opinion on the development.

I am really waiting for more walk in stations. I hope they open the door soon, so we get to explore the rest of the station. I am really waiting for the corporate office and casinos. I hope they would put few developers to make it happen. So do you guys & gals think they should put development resources for WIS?

According to last "expansions" which didn't expand anything (starting from ~2010) - I believe CCP doesn't have any resources to put anywhere except for debugs and new skins.

p.s. WiS is the onl part of EVE I'm interesting in to see expanded because I don't believe CCP is able to do anything really interesting with spaceships - they had 10 years and I'm not impressed with results of development of both EVE spaceships PvE and PvP. The only reason I'm still playing is diversity of playstyles: while each of them isn't perfect to say the least I can switch between them when I'm tired of one of them - so adding +1 gameplay (WiS) to choose from will make game more attractive for sure.

Sure. Just wait a year for Dust development to complete + resources relocation back to EVE (fire excessive Dust devs, /hire EVE developers, form new teams) + 1 year of work to create expansion. All I expect during next 18 months within EVE is Dust integration + more debugs / internal code refactoring.

The problem with any future WiS stuff since it's been scaled down is even when they dedicated a lot of resources to it, all we got was one room & a door. I can't really see much else happening..... OH MY GOD, YOUR FACE!

We'll get WiS when WoD is live and stable, at which point CCP may consider porting the WoD engine to the Eve client.

While I'm *all* for WiS, and can envisage many many cool things that CCP could do with it, i quickly realised that while the concept of having an auditorium for your pilots, and someone perhaps talking over battleplans (like the end of Star Wars) is nice, how do you create an environment (let alone a game engine with such fidelity!) that could easily handle as many players as you'd find in a massive alliance fleet? Not to mention the load on the graphics cards - CCP would end up having an awful lot of people complaining about melted cards i think ;D

This too. WoD makes for a wonderful testbed that can be used and abused nicely to ensure that once WiS appears, it'll be beautiful, stable, and worthwhile.

I think it would make sense for the next incremental step of WIS to be rentable/buyable quarters that can be customized with furniture, lighting, wallpapers, art and other showpieces. This would anchor people in a certain location a bit more by really giving it a homely feeling and attachment. The most important thing would be to enable a small amount of other players to go into these rooms and interact through voice chat. Later on corporation lounges and other social spaces can be implemented.

The other aspect of WIS that includes exploration and EVAs is also important and should be given just much resources and effort. So I definitely think they should continue developing WIS, but not at the expense of improving space gameplay.

I would love to have a full universe to walk and fly in.
However shiny space things pays the bills, not mythical ideas and prototypes. People are soured by what they received and its going to be a long long time for that cycle of players that existed for incarna to move on and leave a new populous all bright eyed and bushy tailed for new and exciting exploring in stations.
