Is there a purpose other than giving away a ton of isk to kill a person?? Forgive my ignorance but what really comes of it when say you are to kill one of the people with a 400bil bounty on them? No really because im sure they have died been podded before etc how far do you set them back? Im sure their megacorp will help them rebuild their ship, implants etc or heck they might even have the isk themselves.. And for what do you get lets see you spend a ton of isk to have him killed or you rally your corp to help pay or you scrounge up with your buddies or your alliance all for a guy to die 1 time then what you go on living your eve life?? lol I really dont see the negative for the person with a bounty, so you get killed by a angry mob of huge mining nerds that you griefed or bads that have no clue how to fly ships or pvp in null space. Again forgive me as I have never gotten so mad to the point to put up money to have 1 target taken out I just move on and continue playing the game my fun hasnt been ruined etc. If anyone has a explanation or can point out why it is important for bounties or if im completely missing the point of them enlighten me please..

You are completely missing the point of bounties.

It's not really a bounty, but a cynical term for giving the person free isk.

Well I think I do get the point as I stated it seems as a means to give away isk. Although I believe it is hilarious for the people paying out the bounty I wonder are they truly resolved from the matter....

The bounty system is fantastic... in theory. In reality, as you've found out for yourself, it is plagued by offering no special/extra tools to be used in the collection of any bounties (something that's been suggested since day1). As such, aside from being another griefing tool to be used on new players, for older/more established players it is mostly used as yet another epeen meter/free isk to be collected by an alt/advertisement via the billboards. Someday it may get overhauled, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

Edit: Typically, the only resolution sought is a (hopefully loot piñata filled) killmail and the corpse.

For me the bounty system is like a savers account, once it gets to a nice amount ill go to a blank jumpclone have a corpmate pod me and split the cash.

Bounty can be seen as a savings fund without the risk of sending isk to another entity - isk for a rainy day assuming you don't undock much so to speak.

Can I kill a Corp mate and take his bounty? Can it only be done with people outside his/her corp?
