CCP seems to have thought of everything, great work dev team. <3

It does appear to be very well thought out, but only the combined efforts to exploit it by every single EVE player will prove whether it's perfect or not.

Nothing can be perfect.

Though I agree that only though "seeing how it goes", will we be able to assess the relative "awesomeness".

Very true. So long as CCP are prepared to act when exploits are unveilved, then all is as it should be.

This is true. Players have been suggesting this exact kind of bounty system for years.

I suppose we can be grateful they went with that suggestion rather than all the terrible ones that popped up alongside it.

its a social experiment. in theory, if you wait long enough, everybody will have a bounty. curious how long it will take

how to fix eve: 1) remove ECM 2) rename dampeners to ECM 3) add new anti-drone ewar for caldari 4) give offgrid boosters ongrid combat value

The bounty system is indeed good. Too bad its goodness is essentially nullified by the pants-on-head kill rights system.

I wrote some true EVE stories! And no, they're not of the generic "my 0.0 alliance had lots of 0.0 fleets and took a lot of 0.0 space" sort. Check them out here:

Which they will, problem is it will probably take them 6 months to fix any problems :)

I think it's awesome that CCP revisited the bounty system, although I will wait to see how it plays out before I praise the work done.

I would imagine people will be putting platinum insurance on ships then blowing them up with alts (also collecting salvage) to rid the bounties, at a small cost vs. cost to the person that placed the bounty.

However, I hope this is not the case. When I first started playing Eve I thought bounties would be exciting until another player explained to me how it is broken. I'd love to see the days of a working bounty system though.

From what I understand, there is no security requirement anymore for bounties, so even a +5.0 can have a bounty if (random person who may or may not have been wronged) places one on them. So yes, I forsee the "wanted" message across avatars to soon become common placed and on everyone (making it pretty much meaningless). But who knows for sure.

I have to say I'm confused with the new bounty system.

Are there some limitations I glossed over? From what I can see a bounty can be put on anyone. No sec status limit. If this is the case, what stops anyone from just putting a 100k bounty on those miners in his favorite belt? Now they become legal targets for everyone. Lots of giggles to be had.

Lets say a wardec'd party does not want to fight, put a bounty on the offending corp. This of course would trigger said corp to do the same to them. Now nobody undocks. Do they expire? Don't like your CEO, put a wardec on him. Don't want him to know it's from you? Do it from an alt. Make the bounty high enough and watch trust of corp members crumble.

Is this secretly a means of getting people out of hi-sec?
