90's?!? I still have my first trackball form the early 80's. Still works fine ..on my Atari 26Big smileBig smile
Trackballs are modern, work just like upside down mouse and with all the modern architecture that's in a quality programmable optical mouse. Googling for logitech & kensington trackballs will bring up some good stuff.

people who say trackball sucks it's because they are not used to them.

Absolutely true. When I got my first PC trackball, it took time to get used to it. Once I got used to it, it took time to find the perfect settings for me (2/3 speed and between 1/10 and 1/8 acceleration). I have a nice performance boost from using it, so I stick to it. I still have a mouse, an M$ wireless optical that I use with 3D modeling apps, though I have been using my new trackball more often with those apps. I use a pen tablet with my graphics/drawing apps. The rest, especially twitch based games, trackball does best for me.

But trackball vs. mouse really depends on the individual. You a drummer? Probably a mouse. I sux at physical drums apart from drum sequencers. You a guitarist or synth player (I do both), trackball will probably fit you better than a mouse.

Hey gents.

I been playing with the razer lachesis for just over a year now but its just started developing the good ol' razer double click bug (always goes down well in fleets where you doubleclick manual fly 90km away without noticing).

Previously had a razer diamondback which lasted 4 years and my little brother has now used for about 2 years and its still going strong so I've decided i want another durable mouse which will last for bloody ever. Anyone got any suggestions for long lasting durable mice? Preferably with a decent sensitivity (~3500 dpi). Im a bit skeptical about getting another razer mouse since aparently the double click issue im getting with my lachesis is rampant among all the new models.

Cheers
Alec

Shocked iam still using the old razor diamondback i think there is no mouse to replace it.

I'm currently using the Razer Naga Hex, and it's i think it's a pretty good mouse. I'm not really sure if it's worth the 80-100$, i think you can get a mouse the is just as good at a lower price, and the hex bottom are not really all that use full but they work in eve.

If you are planing on buying a expensive mouse, i would advice you to go to the store and try it out before you pay for it. It's hard to know if the size of the mouse fits you hand, unless you actually tried the mouse.
