Why is Auto Pilot still in the game CCP?

no its there for new players.

when they first undock in their noobship the guide teaches them how eve works and they autopilot to get to missions for learning more.

Its basicly the only way to get them started without imploding the brain with more information to take in then there already is.

Having been there when there was no AP, I can tell you, you don't want to be without it.

Plus the fact that removing it would make gankers cry.

Oh for god sake people will cry over anything.

The autopilot is part of the game because it's imensely helpful for crossing large areas of space when you arent in any real danger or carrying anything expensive. This situation happens a lot for a lot of players, so that's why it's in the game. The number of idiots who lose ships due to inappropriate AP use has no relevance to the inclusion of AP in the game. It serves a purpose and serves it well while not allowing for totally safe travel and thus exploits.

Seriously you'd have to have a brain the size of a pencil erazer not to understand why an auto pilot is included in a long distance space faring game.

General discussion never fails to disappoint me.

Meh they are too busy crying over how stronk Concord is and how they cannot gank certain ships for profit any more...

Play EvE how you want to play it and do not let others dictate how you play. Evolve your playstyle to protect yourself from others! Even in "PVE", "PVP" is there, lurking in the shadows.

OP i have noticed several posters int his thread asking you to clarify in simple terms why you want this removed. I can only assume since you have tried to brush them all off with semi-witty back chat that you don't actually have a point at all.

Autopilot is a good way to make gankers believe you are AFK flying when you are, in fact, not.

At least the dumber ones...

No, you saw one guy ask me. I have several times, I just didn't answer it in such a was that they could use it to troll me. So they keeping throwing the line in. No worries, there are plenty of bites. I'm easy fishing that way.

Autopilot is convenient and has no drawbacks as a feature, so of course it's here to stay.

I have never been ganked in three years of EVE even though I occasionally use the autopilot. That's probably because I never use it if I carry more than 50m ISK worth of cargo.

The Autopilot is not only extremely convenient, it also provides lazy and stupid people a variety of ways to fail at EVE. It is a critical component of EVE that its complexity allows players to fail in a lot of different ways. If features like the autopilot are removed and thus complexity is reduced, people have fewer ways of failing available. This will make people appear competent who are in reality lazy and stupid, but were just not given the chance to show it. We don't want that.

No you really didn't. If you don't want to use AP then dont. Then you are free from all the gankers you fear so much.

If you want it gone to save people too stupid to calculate risk vs reward then you're making a moot point.
