Twinkies are DYING for realzz !!

Anybody who thinks Twinkies or other Hostess products are going to 'disappear' are out of their goddamned minds.

The Hostess brand and most if not all of what they make will just be manufactured by another company. The brand is worth money, and the products are popular. It's simply that the current business model isn't viable.

I've seen on eBay Twinkies selling for $50 a box. Those people are going to feel like a bunch of goddamned idiots when production resumes under new ownership.

I've... seen things you people wouldn't believe...

They even say in the article that they shouldn't have any trouble selling the rights to their products. All this Ebay stuff will only make other companies more eager to buy them.

Yup, there are thousands of brands from food and all other sorts of companies still around today whose original manufacturers went out of business.

And of course, $70/box Twinkies on eBay proves there's no shortage of idiots in the world, and no shortage of people keen enough to make a quick buck off said idiots.

Here's a fortune/cnn article about the details and drama occurring prior to Hostess' 2nd (and final) bankruptcy. Basically you can blame everyone: the unions, the hedge funds, and management.

Pork rinds are excellent, especially the hot red pepper ones. But ever take a swig of beer after eating rinds? WTH is that weird taste? It's like the combo of rinds and beer produces a funky swamp mud flavor.

Actually it does apply since you pulled the class warfare card and assumed that I have never gone through any such experience. Actually more than once, but really none of your business. As for any difference, purely economical, not union as is the case here. So it's really not circumstances as you seem to make it out to be, but that they brought it upon themselves by bringing the unions in. I just stay away from unions, easy as that. And now I sit back an laugh as as the unions fight each other over the carcass of the economy they help to wreck; teamsters vs. bakers in this case, over the corpse of an American icon, maybe we'll see them beat each other up like in the good old days.
