as above, need some tips

my faction standings with both gallente and minmatar are both close to -3 . i have diplomacy at lvl3 so i have 2 lvls of that skill to fall back on, at the moment i am grinding through lvl1 missions then getting the storyline mission and increasing my standings that way, i am not in a position to do cosmos missions, so for a casual player what if any are the alternative options open to me?

thanks

do epic arc mission, it will increase about 8.5% standing at last mission.

Doing missions for Sisters of EVE besides the Epic Arc, shouldn't be overlooked.

Interbus has no storyline agents, otherwise I'd be grinding them day and night.

Beats me too, i had a look at this: http://www.newedenlibrary.net/eon/faction_standings.shtml
and Sisters of Eve looks to me to be the best option to get both Minmatarr and Gallente standings
back on track.
Also Interbus doesn't have any Storyline agents, don't know if it's matter or not.

I recently had to do a week worth of LVL-1 for Amarr to grind mine up to minimum requirement. So you have my sympathy

Have you done the 'keeping crime in check' the tags sometimes cost a fortune for the big gains but the small ones that it appears you need should not be to bad.

This link should give you a decent jump start on those standings

http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Data_Centers

And the Interbus comment is the corp you should be grinding standings up in, when you get to 5.0 with them you will be able to run the Gallente - 'Epic Arc' and get a 10% boost without the social skills for completing it.

Interbus is not the same as Impetus, the latter being the corp related to the Gallente arc.

Interbus is a bust. Without storyline agents you'll never get faction standings... ever. So no, it won't help you grind anything up for Gallente.

SoE is an option. You can run the arc and apply standings to Gallente with no derived loss (or gain, so no help with Minmatar there). If you can just run for SoE you're in luck; that will raise your Gallente standings. The only L4 security agent in high sec is in Caldari space as well.

Two points not raised so far.

First, social skills are your friend if the character is a mission runner. Diplomacy 5 is a no brainer.

Second, if the character is going to be a mission runner then before doing any storyline missions complete at least one mission for every npc corp in the game. This doesn't take as long as it sounds. With Connections 4 (which is also a no brainer) you are now able to do at least level 2 missions with every corp in the game regardless of which two main factions you decide to stop caring about. This also makes switching factions significantly easier should you ever decide to do so.

The 'PLAN' will definitely help.

The first thing to do is stop shooting the Gallente and Minmatar Faction ships, basically just decline the Faction mission offers. Next step is train up Diplomacy and then Connections. Probably the easiest way to help fix standing is to work the Career, Circle and Data Center agents. Those agents should be more than enough to fix the standings. Then there's also the Epic Arcs (definitely do the level 1 SOE epic arc every 3 months) and last is the cosmos agents.

are pirate tags for data centre agents available from all belt rats regardless of high / low sec? and what if any is the drop rate. got a few serpentis ones already and was thinking of maybe farming some.

I collected a lot from missions lvl3 and lvl4, but for the pourpose of standings just go to the closest trade hub and buy them. It has taken me 2 years of grinding missions and never selling a single tag to accumulate the numbers needed for some of the standings agents, so at least I wont have to buy them for my alt.

I used to have problems with Gallante standings (was at like -4.8 or thereabouts) and all I did was run the gallante career agent missions. Got it down to like -1. something. Boring yes but it worked.

edit: Oh I also stopped accepting kill missions agains Gallante. That helped a lot too. Oops

You'll get different types or levels of Pirate tags depending on the level of the system security / exploration site / mission site. Also the tags are a random drop which takes a long time to collect the required amount.

As was already stated, they can be easily obtained from the various markets and or contracts. Probably the best option is to ask your friends / corp members if they have any available. At the very least they can check their local markets and do a price check for you.

Oh and not doing faction missions against Gallente/Minmatar includes declining storyline missions for Caldari and Amarr. The higher your faction standing goes with them, the lower is your derived standing on Gallente/Minmatar. I have the same problem the other way around. I stopped doing storylines, cause i dont want to drop below -2 with them.
