Actually more like "returning vet from before all these patches" q's.

I know I could probably piece all this together from crawling dev blogs, patch notes, and forums posts, but I'd appreciate the help nonetheless.

1. So systems have a level now (seems to go up to 5). How is system level increased? I assume it starts at 1 (or zero?) when a system is first captured?

2. I read a recent patch note where level affects LP income (up to 200% at level V). Is this per-system? As in, if you do stuff in a Level V system you get +200% LP? Or is it global somehow? There was a reference in the patch notes saying something like "since the Gallente militia recently pushed to level V..." which made it seem like a global thing.

Each system held can be upgraded. Your faction gets 1 point for holding the system and your faction gets an extra 1 point for each upgrade. Total 6 points can be had for each system. You upgrade a held system by donating lp to that system.

There are 101 systems in caldari and gallente so 606 points total to be had. If your faction has 0-20% they are at tier 1; 20%-40% of the total they go to tier 2 40%-60% , tier 3; 60%-80% tier 4; and 80% or more you are at tier 5.

The upgrade of the individual system does not in itself decide the lp payout. Its the overall tier level that decides the pay out. At tier 4 Gallente and minmatar are getting 2.5xs as many lp for the same activities as the caldari and amarr are getting at tier 2.

How does one do that?

Also you didn't say so explicitly but you did seem to imply that allies in FW share a tier, i.e., Gallente and Minmatar are always the same tier as one another, likewise with Amarr/Caldari?

Go to the ihub of a system, right click and donate.

No. Allies do not share tiers. It's simply coincidence that the allies are at the same tiers.

Or is it? :)

Shut up, you gave away our sinister plans!

Now I have to cancel the ten subscriptions I took out to farm Caldari FW plexes... >.<

Serious questions cause I'm too lazy to work it out:

How much LP a day is it costing you guys to hang onto that tier 4?

Is it costing you more to hang onto tier 4 then you would make by sitting in tier 3 and not upgrading as heavily?

Just curious if all factions getting into Tier3 and sitting there is gonna be the end result of FW. I suspect it is.

I'm posting my imperfect understanding of this. Its pretty close to right but if anyone sees problems feel free to correct me.

If you upgrade a system and an enemy runs an offensive plex in that system, then 10% of his lp comes from your upgrade.

How this is going to sort out is the subject off allot of speculation at this point.

Not costing us anything really. People make enough LP via plexing or missions at T4 to donate back to each system. We can continue to invest back into T4 as long as we hold the required number of systems. For example, I can run a major and make 62,500 LP. I know people making 300K LP an hour doing missions with their Tengu. That can be reinvested back into the Ihub. Isk makes more isk.

I wouldn't shed a tear if we fell back to T3. It's gonna happen sooner or later anyway. I'm sitting on alot of LP. 80% of that from plexing. My biggest issue isn't trying to make more but to find a way to cashout items at a competitive market price. I refuse to sell the ships/mods to lowball buy orders. And doing slow sells at lesser competitive regions/market hubs takes a while as well.

I suppose all factions hitting T3 could be the end result. But I wouldn't view that as a negative as long as people's view of 'winning' isn't defined by what warzone control their militia has. If you define winning in that regards, then that's *your* problem. Not CCPs.

Ty for the answer.

No one was trying to define 'winning' - I'm not here to learn how to write a dictionary.
The question was about if it's worth the constant LP dumping or not. I will guess 'yes it's worth it' from your answer.

More thinking about if the warzone will stagnate or flow back and forward like it used to.

If CCP can give us a reason to want to conquer a system, then there can be some fierce battles and a decent ebb and flow. Wanting a certain warzone control isn't enough. Having extra manufacturing slots isn't enough. Having a reduction in medical clones isn't enough. Etc...
