Well, I have no idea how pro-L4s-runners do their stuff but I have 1 base station and all missions are within 2 jumps from there. So 1 ship for killing stuff and 1 for salvage is all I need. Take a mission, go to destination, run it, get back to station, get salvager ship, go salvage wrecks, get back to agent, complete mission. Sometimes salvaging is not worth time. How orca with ships inside makes it more efficient? Honest question, I'm curious if I am missing some piece of a puzzle.

I'm guessing he just wants to be a bit more mobile, perhaps to enjoy a nomadic style.

I used to do exactly as the OP wants to. Its good to have a change of scenery/rats and you can keep all factions happy. I now have enough ships to leave in all 4 major faction areas so just JC to wherever I feel like missioning.

[quote=Hikaru Sulu]My advice is to not let the Noctis 270k size hamstring you. Either sub an MWD destroyer to do your salvaging, or repackage the Noctis to keep it in cargo rather than the maintenance array (You don't really need rigs for it) and put it together in station when you need one for big salvaging jobs. That will give you tons more space for covert ops ships, assault frigs, extra cruisers etc for diversity in the Orca.

With T2 Salvagers, the base salvage chance is 35%. Given that, I agree that rigs aren't necessary.

As for the Cerberus, the Caracal is getting a buff next month. This leaves the Navy Caracal and the Cerberus, which the T2 version of the Caracal, sub-par, so hopefully CCP will get around to improving them sometime next year. Maybe that will make the Cerberus more viable for running T2 missions.
