Commentating - Less Ships More Names

Just a thought; as you guys mentioned yesterday naming players like "oh yeah that guy did this" and "That guy did all the theory crafting".

Would it be an idea to start making these tournaments more personal to the players entering them; instead of referring to the ships all the time.

I can appreciate that some people, like me, have the most ******** names to pronounce.

But it might help with the smaller guys publicity in the tournament to get them known; i remember in ATX the Mach pilot in a certain match who went 1v4 and won the match for his team. Although he's just remember as the "guy in the mach" because the commentators just referred to him as "this mach pilot" and "the mach pilot".

Thoughts ?

I think they should use more names too.

I just turned into an egg, did I level up? I spent an hour trying to salvage a wreck, when in local a guy said "Stop it, this is my Tempest, I was AFK"

From what I have been hearing, the commentary has been pretty spot on. Maybe a little more name dropping could help to soothe the egos of some pilots I guess but as far as I'm concerned the Fozzie and Dolan dream team has been working well.

The only commentary issue I heard was on my last match against Nulli, I had just programmed in my orbit and was about to go afk and make some coffee when someone on teamspeak yells "you need to go in and bump that nightmare! CCP Fozzie said it is the only way to win!" immediate panic ensued and I was desperately trying to figure out how 10 could be a lower number than 4. After approximately an eighteenth of an arena orbit later and a rushed consultation with http://www.mathfoundation.com/, we realised that all we did have to do was continue orbiting to win.

My idolisation of the indubitable CCP Fozzie may have been shattered forever.

fozzie-dolan dream team? I think not. Whereas Raivi actually knows something about spaceships, MB3 is completely useless. Why talk about the match when you can mastrubate your pen whilst telling us another one of his terrible anecdotes. How he gets a living wage from ccp i have no idea.

EDIT: To be fair, Dolan made paracticing on Sisi for this pretty easy with the 3 mil sp imbursement so +1 for that
