Tbh it feels like a bland ripoff, at least in beta. It's lacking a certain something.

Like any form of real challenge?

Face it, its spawn, spray and pray 90% of the time.

Its COD style gameplay with BF2 style maps with futuristic, unbalanced weapons.
Not to mention the game runs like **** on my rig, despite it having a i5 2500 and a GTX560 with 16gb of ram.

Good, it wasn't just me then.

Pon Farr Memorial: once every 7 years, all the carebears in high-sec must PvP or they will be temp-banned.

I could have told you that the day they announced work being done on a PS Next. I played PS long enough to know that that's how they roll. Ridiculous, then they will patch in something that will totally overpower and break the existing; endless cycles of this. No more for me, didn't even bother with beta. I'll stick to the BF series, thx, been on it since launch day of BF1942. BF2142 being my fav so far, just dig that Voss L-AR jumping out of a burning mech Big smile

I'm in it for the money

I'll give it a shot, but I'm not exactly dying to play. As far as fps games go, I'm pretty much covered with CS:GO, Tribes, and Blacklight. PS2 just doesn't look like something that I'd put any serious time into it. I like the concept, but I like a bit more structure, for lack of a better word, in my fps games and this just looks like it'll be all over the place.

To be fair, personally the only FPS that has ever been worth a **** in the past decade is BF2.

Sure the new one is decent, COD can be fun when played in LAN centers for tournaments but really, BF2 had a much better community, graphics that didnt break the bank even at the time and pretty damn impressive game play for its time with the map size and ability to fly, drive and swim.

Maybe I am just bitter but I have not played a decent multiplayer FPS that can touch it since, single player FPS is a different story though since I loved Metro 2033.

Odd that i find out about PS2 on another games forums. I played the original for a year or so right up until they put advertising into he game and still charged a sub. Nothing like seeing coke banners on an alien planet. The trailer and screens look like a remake of the original with slightly better graphics. If it makes it to the first xpac who wants to bet itll be cave battles or mech warriors?

Yeah Ganz is my second fav, it's my defensive weapon. However I cap a lot and knock out titans so the light assault weapon gives me the precision I need when on the move.

So turns out SOE hates the EU. DL it from steam, try to log in using station account, get told to get an account with some German site then when I try to log in it tells me I need a station account...

I'm playing it a bit, enjoyed the beta enough to download a F2P shooter.

I'm NC on US West - Connery

Only put in about 2 hours, but had quite a bit of fun with a bunch of Vanu who decided standing still with an infiltrator in the area was a good idea.

PS2 experience so far:

Logged in, made character, started play.
No tutorial. No familiarization at all. Reminded me of eve.
Stood around in the initial start structure, looking for information, tutorial agents, or something along those lines.
Kept getting killed and re-spawning in the spawn building. Could not find any in-game newb section, place to learn/study.

Character deaths continued. Occasionally on-site medics would offer "revives" while i looked around for information.

Eventually figured out the keybinds by intuitively getting into settings & the keybinds panel.
Read/studied the keybinds while getting semi-regularly killed at the spawn point.

With some basic keyboard understandings, left the initial start building & made a few attempts at aggressive play.

Regular character death & re-spawning continued.

There doesn't seem to be a setting to turn off the head-bob while you walk/move/run. This leads to 3D nausia Ugh

Following one re-spawn and exploration of the start building, - discovered the redeploy option at console in a wall computer.

Redeployed to a region that wasn't 95% overrun with opfor.

Unsurprisingly, the region was very quiet. You could walk for ages & find no one. Bases didn't seem to have any training areas. The fronts with enemies seemed to have activity, yet again, the sides were very lopsided & there did not seem to be any sign of player opfor. I thought i saw a few but later realized they were blue. I'm probably responsible for some inadvertent TK / or blue on blue Ugh as FoF identification didn't seem all that intuitively obvious.

Graphics & system performance isn't all that inspiring. I'm reminded of eve's CQ.

From a positive standpoint, it does seem rather engaging in terms of overall experience. Size of maps is huge, terrain seems quite intuitive to navigate, particularly when mountain climbing by foot. While incredibly depressing to be dropped into an overwhelming hotzone only to be killed a moment or two later, it is amusing the first few times.

However stumbling away from the computer to worship the porcelain alter & losing my dinner, gets a bit much after mmmmm, 30 minutes? 60 minutes? Hard to say, but something along those lines.

At this point, being a bit of a masochist i'll keep at it but it's not looking like a keeper.

-Edit:

Recently uninstalled it. ... i have lost interest in getting physically ill / 3D nausia again.
