Bandaid, does NOT fix the problem, just makes it different.

Issler

So in the world of Issler Dainze, WINNER, a band-aid is literally nothing?

Also, what are you doing with your CSM position to make tech moon dispersion happen?

Will you call on CCP to add more resource diversity to null?

What an irony!

More diversity to highsec !

Especially in mining ~~

My real problem is her obvious lack of education about what happens in null.

She didn't even know there were alchemy reactions added recently for Technetium.

Having Issler call for changes to Null-sec would be like having me dictate changes to Hello Kitty Online.

What I am doing to trying to make sure that the mining changes that CCP has shared happen so that moon minerals can also be harvested as part of mining. Then moon mining is no longer the monopoly that exists today.

And yes, in theory that could also add more resources to null. Of course the bigger problem of industry in null involves much more than adding resources. Also providing input about that as well.

That's what I'm doing, thanks for asking!

What did I miss? I laid out several guiding principals that would attract new players, or at least I thought. What is it exactly that you would also like a response to. I would gladly elaborate on my earlier statements.

Question

The question asked was:

La Nariz wrote:
Okay since you claim to know how EVE works, what attracts new players please explain this to us all?

The response given was:

Shizuken wrote:

It is not just what attracts new players, it is why they stay. Getting routinely and mercilessly pounded to dust from all comers is not appealing to the majority of people. Some may stick through it, but it is frustrating to have gameplay goals that are never realized due to constant resets of ones progress.

The best design philosophy for maximum subscribership is a place where anything is possible in the long term, but where the initial experience is favorable and rewarding. Running level one missions with 200k SP and barely any money while allowing hostile campers to repeatedly kill noobs is not an effective strategy to keep them playing, neither is constant hand holding.

The proper fix to the current complained about balance between high, low, and null sec is not to make high less safe. The proper tactic is to make the possibilities in null greater and have more depth.

But please, now tell me how rampant antisocial behavior encourages people to stick around.

No where in your response do you say what attracts new players, you decided to completely ignore the question and try talk space philosophy instead.

I absolutely knew of the alchemy changes. I even provided feedback before you knew about them! P But they are far from a solution.

Finally, I never ran to address null sec issues. Here for the miners of empire!

So instead of educating yourself in game mechanics you are trying to implement changes based on your own, one persons, experience. Since you don't live in null or have much null industry experience how exactly are you adding anything constructive to the discussions? You are the highsec CSM after all.

Something happened. You either forgot about it, ignored it, or feigned ignorance.

None of which instills any confidence, Issler.

Given this is the same person that tried to say that something that can be created by anyone in the game via alchemy is still subject to a monopoly, I'm going to lean towards ignorance.

I +1'd this.

I wish I'd picked up on that, too. Well done.

"I would expect something to have happened by now to address isk printing machines like tech moons"
"what about alchemy, which is most likely going to end up slashing tech prices to 40k and below?"
"well yeah, but that's not enough!"

I wonder if Issler might be saying this because of a POS which got litlerally blown up.

The best part? They were Moon Mining towers too.

Wonder why she's not too big on moon mining as A Thing anymore?

Well you're certainly doing a good job of representing them.

You know, by poking your nose into stuff and offering your valued opinion on how to fix a situation while understanding literally nothing about the situation.

You know, exactly like Empire miners do.

Well apart from Issler, the current CSM doesn't seem to have an opinion about anything and are more concerned with being a council of yes-men.

There's a representation problem then, see...

Yes-men: These buffs to EHP to stop the ~profitable gankin~ and the cargohold for amazing AFK content are the best ever!

Miners: Waaa. we're being bumped, the EHP does nothing and why even bother with cargohold when we can't mine, aaaaaaaa

Game is declining because:

- only now, after a decade, CCP found out that "player base" is not a static concept and new players have to be enticed to stay longer than 2 months before giving up.

- at the same time the old players see some frigates / cruisers revamp, a cosmetic change nobody really asked for, wardecs etc. screwed more than ever, null sec stale like CIA's director David Petraeus's wife.

- at the same time CCP announced that next patch(es) are more of the same (revamping BCs etc), that is they won't deliver true new content along with revamps of the past.

I have recently come BACK to eve, i found other mmo's to be lacking i quit for close to 4 years. yes they need to do more to entice new players to come, however the game its self is amazing.
