The CSM should never have been implemented in the first place. I didn't vote for them and i don't want them to speak for me.

Edit - I wouldn't mind the CSM if everything was transparent.

Ideally a video conference on either a weekly or monthly basis would be about 10x more productive than a once or twice a year visit to Iceland. And yes, I'm talking about scheduled meetings... not pick up meetings.

I understand you may talk to them on a daily basis... but its obviously not in a manner that is constructive enough.

The idea is that Email is used for quick questions and answers and regular correspondence.
Video conferences are used to update both CSM and CCP on where everyone is at and where they are going. Ideally, with it all grouped together people keep the big picture in mind and communication is strengthened.

The whole trip to Iceland is a silly concept. In this day and age, pretty much everything can be done in more cost effective ways over the internet... you just have to have the initiative and drive to make it work.

Additionally, coupling a new method like this with monthly video updates from both the CSM and CCP will give the community a better perception of both.

Of course, because we actually were put in charge of CCP, and they have to listen to everything we said. You seem to be forgetting that they don't always listen to us and they don't always even share things with us before they do it. In general, when they have asked us for opinions, we have been nearly 100% right on the player reactions. It isn't our fault they don't ask or listen.

You have just summed up exactly why the CSM is pointless.
