So I want to explore the avenue of piracy........

I played from 2004-2009. Did it all except piracy. I unfortunately gave my pilot away so I am starting anew. I currently have 2.5000.000 skill points.

All the so called "guides" say you can start to solo pvp (pirate) within a week. Pick targets of opportunity, flip cans etc......not as easily done in game as it is said in print but anyway.

I would much rather join a band of merry thugs than go it alone. Problem is SP requirements. Why is this such a big deal? If all the guides say you can "start" solo pvp (piracy) right away why is the SP requirements such a big deal?? Is it that we don't contribute enough? Roaming solo sort of sucks but I guess you have to start at the bottom.

If any low sec pirate corps want to take a chance and give me a shot to be cannon fodder or bait I'm all in. This game is to good to go at it alone. I'm in the USA EST zone.

I would be grateful to learn the trade from the experts as its the only thing I have never done in the game.

As a new player myself 1.8mil skill points from what i can see its because they don't want to have to explain the basics of game play or have to help a new player work around their fitting limitations and try and fit them into a specific type of fleet. Basically they are being lazy and or "elite".

This, mainly. Many corps (not just pirate) have the SP requirement because they don't have to sit down and teach you how to do the basics....like combat probing or d-scanning.

You are a returning bittervet (like many recently) and should indicate as such on your app, so you have the experience if not all the level 5 skills they want. It could make a differance...or not.

Everything in EVE is a trap.

And if it isn't, it's your job to make it a trap...:)

You want to know what immorality in EVE Online looks like? Look no further than Ripard "Jester" Teg.

Chribba is the Chuck Norris of EVE.

Piracy is like pregnancy...there is no "on the weekend I am pregnant".

Here at C&P we try and encourage our young bright minds to grow. I ask that you please try and offer some constructive feedback. Eugene is one of our special boys, but he has a lot of potential.

I have a lover, her name is EVE. I see her every night and all she asks in return is that I have a pilot's license.

We are looking for a few pilots. Most of our corp is located in the US. If you're interested message me in game or send me a mail.

Ok here we go........

What it sounds like he is trying to convey is that piracy is not a part time profession by the , "on the weekend I am pregnant" comment....yet he states, "Piracy is like pregnancy" Implying it is a full time profession not just a weekend activity. Well pregnancy is not full time either so its sort of a contradiction.

That's my take at least. Hope that's constructive enough with out offending.

That's what I got out of it... and could go along with how pregnancy isnt the worse thing the whole time you are pregnant some is worse then others... but we dont need that here... rules of piracy/eve make sure you are more useful flying with them then your wreck would be worth, trust no one. Lol

In my own experience the skill reqs, tend to have less to do with the teaching people to fly than the fittings and ships issue (one corp i was in would waive the sp req for drake pilots for example), with 2.5mil sp it is unlikely you can fit a ship which can handle sentry aggro at present (not saying you don't know how but that the sp for the fit isn't there).

For camping fleets tanking sentries is vital and for roaming low sec it is a pain in the backside having to wait for 15mins after a kill because a fleet member will get pwned in the face if he even looks at a gate.

However after the next patch you may find some corps begin to lower the sp req as the gate gun mechanics are going to change.

Also I apologise, as by my posting here it is now likely this topic will see a group of flame United posts... Roll

Scammers are currently selling killrights on this toon for up to 5mil, if you have paid for this service demand your money back at once.

Killing me should be for free.

Setting it in a temporal context.

IF you are pregnant....you ARE pregnant for as long as it takes (hopefully).

IF a new player desides for the bright side of eve then he/she/it (puts the lotion in the bucket) should consider that this way implies a certain commitment.
You can get -10.0 quite fast but it takes much longer to get your sec status back up. Once you have your positive sec-status back you will have to do aditional weeks to months of grinding up standing with empire factions (if you ever plan to move through empire unharmed again).
Once you have invested so much time in restoring your standings you will fall into relaps anyway and probably shoot a pod inhigh sec by accident....
There are some very successful High sec Pirates like this one guy S. P. in HEK and neighboring systems as well but that requires skill and knowledge of the game a new pilot will not be able to field. So step by step....

If you want to get into piracy think twice...

Fair enough.

I hope I didn't come across as an asshat I just didn't understand your meaning of the quote.

I don't care about my sec status. Been there done that. I wanna be the guy or group of guys that people get pissed at for ruining their day and laugh about their QQ tears.

Problem is, as a new pilot flying solo has its drawbacks and frustrations so I was looking for a group to groom me in the ways of indecency. Pirate
