Hello fellow pilots,

I have played off and on through the years. I have missed much and came and went. I am returning with the 4$ montly resub.

My questions are:

what would be a good goal for a mission runner , skills, loadout etc for isk making in pve?

what would be a good loadout, skill set to begin doing some pvp, starting small in frigs and moving up as i find a corp?

here is my current skill build.

i just re-activated and am looking for some tips on a path where i can do mission running to fund my pvp.

thanks-

In the short term, jump in a Dominix for some level 4 isk.

I would suggest you go grab a couple of your race's "best" t1 frigs (eg. Rifters), find a decent pvp fit (on battleclinic or through google) and go have fun in low-sec. There are corps around that will teach you the fine art of piracy, if you're interested in that.

As for the skills, it depends a little on the fit that you're going to use. Generally speaking, training your race's frigate skills to level 4 is a good idea, plus as many of the other support (eg. gunnery) skills that affect your ship/fit to at least level 3, better 4. Also, you should probably train the main gunnery skills to 5 so you can use tech 2 guns.

I found this blog (especially the "punisher plan" section) quite fascinating to get started with a pvp/pirate life, plus I think everyone should read the beginner's guide to piracy – among other things, it will teach you how to set up your overview, how to use d-scan etc.

Looking at your skills, I'd recommend a Dominix for some missions. It's cheaper than most BSs, you don't need to train any additional skills and it can easily run level 4s to fund your pvp. Many domi setups I've seen, and the one I used back when I flew one, was a dual armor rep setup. Don't use both reps constantly though, only 1, and use the 2nd if/when your tank falls behind. Ask in ships and modules forum if you need some more info, sorry I don't have any of the fitting programs on this laptop or I'd post one.

PvP I don't know too much about really, just how to avoid it Cool RvB seems a popular choice though for pilots looking to learn it.
