It'll be dead as a doorknob if they don't figure out a way to get rid of this CIA/FBI Background check process for getting into a friggin corporation. S**t is ridiculous dude.

People play MMOs, for the most part to play with others. I swear to God corporations are going to start asking for blood samples for membership in this damn game.

I come from WoW dude, I'm not used to this crap. You hook up with some cool folks, they send an invite, you join and kill stuff together.

Jesus,Mary and Joseph man...

I get defending against spies, but s**t.

The average noob just does not have the patience for this idiocy. Is that good or bad, w/e. Facts are facts and if they want to grow, they need to figure this crap out. The ONLY thing keeping me in EvE is the fact that I'm a truck driver so the skilling system fits well with my schedule. Someone else who's home every day and has access to tons of other games due to a more forgiving schedule? Pffft...

Go back to WoW; and I don't even mean it on a sarcastic or an insult or anything, but really, Eve's not for everyone, there are those who fit right in, some are ok with most of what's going on and how the game works, some just, well, not Eve material and no, once more, I'm not insulting your perspective or what you might have expected out of Eve, but to make it clear, here's what one of the quotes one dev said about this particular topic :

It isn’t really hard, but I think there are customers that you can lose in a good way and there’s customers that you can lose in a bad way. If people come in and fundamentally don’t like EVE Online, then I think that might be a good way of losing customers. EVE isn’t for everyone. I wish it was, but the reality is that there are some people who just enjoy playing another game more. And that’s not really that bad.

While I do agree that the tutorial part of Eve should somehow be 'fixed' or majorly improved. Eve is what it is, the case you mentioned is what happens when everyone can do everything (sandbox) in a singlesharded gaming environment. You either adapt or just get out. Sorry.

hmmm

1. The Nex store will have 3 more overpriced items which have ugly colors and make boobs look even bigger
2. WIS will finally be a reality and I will own a bar and have millions of SP in Space-foo-fighting to put the smack-down on smack- talkers in local.
3. BitterVets will have a memorial floating in Jita space with their names and dates of unsubbing on them
4. BitterVets will return because they know that life is a sham and Eve is real
5. CCP Falcon will still have a red scrub brush on top of his head while still managing to have a cute avi :)

I'm not a carebear... I'm a SPACE BARBIE!  Now... where's Ken?

- 5,000,000 pilots active on Tranquility
- EVE Movie (with sequels) detailing the war between empires before New Eden
- Jove as a playable race
- No Lag!
- Battle stations (requiring multiple pod pilots to fly)

This would be a good start Twisted

2017: Tranquility population reaches the 7 Billion player mark (actual players not including alts)
2018:EVE servers are run completely on hamster powered turbines (think that exercise wheel they have)
2019: Space station CCP Hilmar is built,
2020: CCP becomes a multi-trillion doller company and complely monopolises the space industry
2021: EVE players are now actual pilots hired by CCP
2024: CCP sells rights to build Real Hulks in space to mine asteroid belts
2030: Real jovians appear and give us warp drive technology and ability to travel to other solar systems instantly

i think 10 years AND BEYOND!!!

The Jovian Enhanced Diversional Initiative, equipped with advance remote manipulation hardware will be waving their laser swords at the Spacefleet Acadamy mercenaries who have chosen the path of regular mercenaries — blasters and phaser guns — while up in space capsuleers and organic ships duke it out to resolve the Reality Dysfunction.

We finally get an answer to the ages old question of who wins in a firefight between Stormtroopers (who couldn't hit the broadside of a sand crawler at point blank range) and Red Shirts (who don't survive more than 30 seconds). The most likely answer is that they all get blown up by an orbital strike.

10 years? Let's see

Real world / CCP

- 1.000 employees
- complete independent power supply through offshore wind parks
- chopper landing(s) spot on the rooftop(s)
- CCP employees own 51% of the company (consortium, companionships etc.)

Web / Forums

- only GD left, 10 moderators
- the usual QQ threads (local, ECM, hi / lo / null etc.)

Ingame / EvE universe

- WiS is now a part of DUST (PC version), capsuleers love to slaughter each other in hisec stations
- China and TQ joined to one big universe, several hundreds of thousand people online
- T3 of everything (ships, mods, implants etc.)
- EvE - the movie Part 2 (about Amarr and Minmatar by Ridley Scott, Part 1 by James Cameron was about Caldari vs. Gallente) starts in cinemas all over the world, pushing the pilot subscriptions over 5 Mio. worldwide
- first 400 m SP players appear
- Jita 4-4 is not the only hub anymore
- plex is about 2 bil ISK worth
- null is crowded, low still dead

Don't be scared, because being afk is not a crime.

In ten years this game is either dead or better.

EVE has got to the point where the galaxy is a bit too small. I think we need to add like ten new regions or something to make this game really intresting again. Prehaps open up the evegate or some other huge wormhole? This game can't survive on niche alone, atleast not in ten years from now if current mmo trends are any indication.

WiS and dust are far from the best thing to prioritise right now, they are here to add flavour to the game but should not be taken too seriously.

EVE online is the fishermans friend of MMO's. If it's too hard you are too weak.

You mean after WWIII .5? Prolly buried in rubble while what's left of the human race wanders the sewers like flesh eating zombies. Think 0.0 but w/o corps or alliances, no sun, no moon, fresh air is rather poison. Pretty much it until the remaining food is gone.

I'm in it for the money
