Which system is best for???

I'm currently working on my Exploration skills and building up my money to outfit a Vexor for Exploration.

As the old saying goes, Practice makes Perfect, and whilst doing missions for jobs and agents is all well and good, I need to practice scanning down sites.

I don't want to go into low sec and certainly not null sec systems to do this, as I don't have a cloaking device yet, so I'm wondering which hi sec systems are best for practising the art of scanning down sites.

I've done 1.0 to 0.8 sites and all I seem to get are unstable wormholes, are there radar, magnetic etc sites in 0.5 to 0.7 systems?

Or do I need to get my act together, man up and go into low sec?

I don't need to know of systems names, just what sort of sites will be in a say, 0.6 system.

Many thanks for your input in advance.

High-sec exploration sites can spawn in any highsec system, whether it's 0.5 or 0.8 or 1.0. Or rather, there are no 0.6 specific sites or 0.5 specific sites, they'll appear in any high-sec system.

Best advice I can give you is to cover as many system as possible, rather than just xyz sec status systems.

http://evemaps.dotlan.net/ has great regional maps. I like using them to find nice routes of systems (circular routes where I don't have to double back to systems I've already visited) and can also show you the amount of player traffic per system.

If you're in Caldari space, the competition there is fierce, and you'll often find lots of systems without anything worthwhile exploration wise. In Amarr/Gallente space you might be able to find sites more easily, but their payout is usually less (which is why everyone is in Caldari space).

So, summary: visit as many highsec systems as possible!

Thanks for the advice, I'll just have to go around the regions and take a notepad and pen with me.

I've been thinking of getting the EON magazine region maps to stick up in the computer room, but with the link you've provided I can just print them off.

Once again thanks, and good hunting.

Just to add to St Mio's excellent advice concerning Dotlan. You can set the filter on a Regional map on Dotlan to Jumps to indicate the traffic which St Mio spoke of. To that end, you can USUALLY employ the same filter to find gate camps in Low Sec. Honestly, if you're going to go to Caldari space for the payout, you might as well try to grab the Low Sec sites that so many folks are afraid of exploring. If you can dual box with a scouting Alt, it's not all that dangerous even. Sure you'll lose some ships along the way, but the payout seems much better to me.

FInally, I think you're well on your way for exploration with the Vexor. That will lead you into the Ishkur which is currently the kind of exploration boats (imo). Don't lose sight of your combat capabilities, particularly when working Low/Null/WH. the quicker you're in and out of the site, the higher your chances of escaping the gank.

confirming good advice. just fly around and scan wherever you land. try to stick to less populated systems and not scan systems twice in a row. if you are in caldari hisec, you will get that c-type invul eventually.

I should buy an Ishtar.

Thanks for the advice guys.

I just tried a quick reply and it seems not to have taken. What?

I've been looking for a solid way to make money without getting podded nine times out of ten, and with a bit of luck and a cloaking device, I'll manage to do that.

I've heard that Caldari space is full of explorers, so for a while I'll stick to the other races space.

I've used low pop systems before, and that was to do ratting, but to get the money I want it'll take a million hours whilst in hi-sec.

Once again, thanks and I look forward to any more input from yourselves or others.

Ishtar, not Ishkur. And yes, it's really quite nice -- in Serpentis and Gurista space at least.

Actually, I'm sending them to you piecake, so you can decorate your bedroom with them.

Don't worry, no need to pay anything, I want you to have them.
