I congratulate the goons on what they have achieved.

The same goes to Test.

Anybody could of of done what they have done but they didn't and know there is nothing but tears.

How you guys feel about tech moons and overall game politics and balance ?

here is the comment from eve24

"They never should have let Goons or anyone else, sit on Tech moons for almost 2 years and counting. Meanwhile nerfing drone regions, incursions, and mission drops/bounties. Null sec sites and running lvl 4's in npc nullsec takes no coordination, are easier, and make more isk than incursions ever did, guess who got nerfed.

Goons have so much isk from tech moons they can afford to setup permanent hulkageddon rewards, ice interdiction, throw away thousands of tornado's in burn jita, while fighting war after war with free ship replacement for the largest blob in eve. Seems balanced...... It's too late to be fixed now, they have amassed so much wealth and influence that eve is over. Goons won, and CCP is basically a goon pet at this point. I don't blame people for quitting. Goons stated goal was to ruin eve for everyone, well guess what, they've succeeded, and some how CCP was stupid enough to let this all happen. "

the best part is: "Goons won, and CCP is basically a goon pet at this point." heh nice :)

My question again: How you guys feel about tech moons and overall game politics and balance ? what can be done with this situation to make our game better ?

I seem to recall somebody calling for the redistribution of Tech Moons, perhaps with a depletion schema. He seemed to think putting all the Tech in one area wasn't a smart thing as far as game design goes. Seems like this guy was somebody big in Eve, let's see who was that?

CCP made their stance abundantly clear. That basically being, "Changing Tech is too hard. Besides, this will drive conflict."

What was "my leader" supposed to do, give the moons all to you?

I bet you have the logistics in place to harvest all that Tech and get it safely to market, don't you?

If you really wanted to play tough you'd put together a crew to go take it. Generate some of that conflict CCP mistakenly believes centralized Technetium will inevitably provide.

Instead you take what you think look like cheap shots against the CFC and its leadership until that's subjected to scrutiny.

All from the comfort of an unwashed NPC alt.

It would be positively ******** not to exploit it until it is fixed, just like anything else.

This is actually an old point that CCP has addressed in the past in several dev blogs, and they've basically said, it's a tough nut to crack.

If you make rewards too similar everywhere, then there is nothing to fight over. Make the rewards too dis-similar, and the current holder of the gold mines are invincible. The only solution is a middle ground where those without the best gold mines can still "win" if they work harder with their lesser gold mines.

The same goes for how many "gold mines" there are. Too few resources, and there is a goal to keep other people out. Too many, and they become worthless. Again, the solution has to be a middle ground between lots of lesser gold mines that can be worked by many, but with limited total output, and fewer, better gold mines.

In EVE, numbers win. Whomever can put together the biggest, strongest fleets, wins.

You gather the numbers by having a play style that lots of people find "fun" to play, and by being able to offer those people lots of gold mines to harvest in relative safety.

Yet people act like this is what the CFC as a whole want.

When in fact little could be further from the truth, as evidenced by the record of The Mittani's tenure as CSM chair.

Are you saying this is equally as wrong as the statement "the traffic of people moving around between null and hisec is minimally covered by JFs"?

Shocking.

Why does anything need to be done about it? How do you envision this “better” game? You're making it sound like there's some kind of problem, but you're not being very clear what it is.

What can be done about the current situation? Well, people could stop moping and go and blow up the goons. That would make the game the exact same, but it would sure stop the never-ending wangst on the forum and would if nothing else make the forums better.

+1 as always. There are 2 realities, Real (in game) reality aka a null sec where stuff is getting blown up and lots of people aren't blue (again, i know, just got booted out of Tribute/Vale lol) .....

....and then there is General Discussion reality, where all of null sec is blue (due to CCP/goon conspiracy) and prefectly safe to pve in (much safer than high sec), and is thus so boring that "null sec zealot" have nothing better to do than gank innocent law-abiding sweet as apple pie miners in high sec "because they hate their play style".

All realities are not "reality" lol.

I think that your comment is very good. And we should stop here. You are right Eve is like real universe, and like in real universe you can be born as slave. Its not your fault ! Its just karma / chaos theory / etc. name it. So you are right. CCP made perfect game and only ppl are BAD ! because many of them is leaving game.. I'm wonder why they are leaving so well balanced universe ?

Maybe they're leaving cause they got bored and they justify that change in emotion by attaching it to irrelevant stuff in game, like the Goons....

To be fair to CCP: After past expansion patches players criticized i.e. "walking in Station - bad" etc. We want CCP to take care of internet space ships again. Now CCP is doing this - and now players ask: "But where is the new content?" I ask me that, too. Vets can become bitter vets real fast in these days. No expensive new toys, no new interesting wars. Only the same old same old.

As always we see the usual trolls, most of them from USA, who propagate some sort of Darwinism.

Market is supply and demand - nothing can go wrong, the market will fix it
Goons are too powerful? - why do you not fight them back?

It is even the majority of Eve players. It is part of the game. this game attracts lots of former school yard bullies or people, who always wanted to be one. It does not attract many nice and helpful people.

So many comments will be not very helpful. Just the usual troll trash talk.

The situation in 0.0 is out of control, but it was already years ago. Just not this obvious. Maybe CCP understood fixing Tech will not fix the problem? I remember, Goons were already moaning about stagnating 0.0 before they had Tech, when Darius Johnson was still their CEO and not CCP Sreegs. The problem is, there is no other powerful community like somethingaweful.com. Most likely there will never be such a community as competition, because in most countries of the world the population is much smaller than in USA, the internet population even more, the gaming community also and so on. These guys have really too much influence on the game and it is not good.

here is, in what Goons and I agree:

1) superior numbers should always win in a mass battle. The guys, who want old DD or blab titans back - **** them. They are like the Republicans, good that these little Donald Trumps lost and their money got nerfed.
2) Tech should have been redistributed a long time ago.

I said Goons were moaning already before Tech about stagnating 0.0 after they successfully waltzed over a couple of regions. So my guess is, redesigning 0.0 and let bigger numbers just win - will not do it. Goons would just adapt and built again an empire as big as they have now. The game needs mechanics, which make mega coalitions unattractive; which make Goons ask themselves, why they have say a couple full fleets, while they could reach their goal just with 1 fleet and the other 2 fleets would not help them. I do not know, how this can be done, without getting exploited like say FW. My feeling is, it is bad to restrict pilot numbers in alliances or systems. It would be better, to create many, many little targets, which they have to attack in many, many small fleets, if they want to take over a lot of systems or regions. Or they choose to to attack 1 target in a big ass fleet and make no progress at all, only stomped one little guy. Then they have the choice: attack somebody in one big fleet or do lots of small fleets.

Depleting and randomly respawning Moon goo is definately a good thing. I just do not think, that would change much on large scale. It does not make the super-rich less rich. It does not matter how the super-rich got their wealth, whether it was Tech, trading, some stupid casino/lottery, bots/cheating or whatever. It is just there.

I'm not a goon, but I admire their monopoly and think earnestly attempting to break the game is a respectable pursuit. The only balance issue is that of too much easy isk throwing off the risk:reward ratio, working as intended.

Highsec is owned by players now. Systems 0.5-1.0 are New Order Territory. All miners and other residents of Highsec must obey The Code. Mining without a permit is dangerous and harmful to the EVE community. See www.MinerBumping.com
