Greetings fellow capsuleer.

Since there is no monospaced font / fixed-width font available in the Notepad accessory for producing legible tables, how about having CCP provide us with a new application especially for creating and displaying information in table format? It would be found with the other accessories such as the Browser, Jukebox, Calculator, Notepad, and etc... and would be called Tables In Space. That's not the same as Spreadsheets In Space which would possible -only more complicated.

Much of the Eve Online user interface seems to work by presenting information via tables anyway. Shouldn't we be able to present our own information in tables as well? Could you imagine CCP trying to present text information in the U.I. without using tables -trying to make pretty colums with spaces using a proportional font such as this one? Maybe they should try it and see how they like it. So, I'd like to store my in-game notes in table format as well.

I'm hoping that this idea might be worthy of the Assembly Hall forum and CSM lobbying.
If not, maybe CCP will relent and give us a mono-spaced font for use in the Notepad application.

-Just had another idea...

A list of publicly available tables could be created and submitted for approval by CCP. The capsuleer created and CCP hosted tables could be accessed in-game via the Tables In Space application in a fashion similar to selecting a chat channel. Within the tables, API related variables could be used in a way that the information displayed would be tailored to the capsuleer accessing it.
As an example, let's say you wanted to see a table regarding turrets for your shiny new spaceship. In the table you'd want to see a column of the various charges available, the turrets available, Range, and Damage Type. The values in the second and third columns would be based upon your current skills and any fleet bonuses.

That means stopping CCP from updating the game because people "ask" for stupid tables.

Considering the dev resources that would need to go into making this, the effort that would need to go into maintaining it between releases, and the fact that the vast majority of us already use excel, google docs, or database-driven web applications...

Yes...its called a grid system and making UI elements static or relative.
