A question about the nature of the clones

I was just wishing to clarify to the nature of the immortality of clones.

I know they are immortal as in: they will come back to life as long as they have a clone

But are they also immortal in terms of age?
Can they live infinitely with the use of cloning technology?

Ill be grateful for any response

Individual clones age naturally. If you do not swap into younger clones regularly, you will eventually age and die.

If, however, you swap into younger clones regularly, then yes you could be theoretically "immortal" with regard to age as well.

Yup. As I recall, the cowardly pig-dog Gallentean, Alexander Noir, was quite old in appearance, leading one to conclude that he had allowed himself to age, which allows for a glimpse into the mentality of older capsuleers. ;-)

Highsec is owned by players now. Systems 0.5-1.0 are New Order Territory. All miners and other residents of Highsec must obey The Code. Mining without a permit is dangerous and harmful to the EVE community. See www.MinerBumping.com

It's been rumored that King Khanid II has used illicit cloning to keep himself younger than he actually is.

Who knows if such things are based on fact, though?

One might think going through life without any aging might lead to some serious emotional and mental issues, though.

This explains the "bitter vets" phenomenon.

Jumping into a notably younger clone also bears risks..
After all, you want to transfer brain patterns between different bodies (and thus different brains), reliably. And the 'older' thought processes now have to deal with a 'younger' body.
I think it's about the same risk as jumping to genetically modified clones. Excessive amounts of money / acesss to the best medical experts in your kingdom will likely reduce the risk.

Didn't the Broker develop some multi-clone-persistant Vitoc dependancy / odd illness?
Never completely understood the logic there, tho.. Was it a psychologically induced disease then?

There is a completely reasonable explanation for that.

It's - OH GOD LOOK OUT BEHIND YOU!

That 'trick' is getting old fast :p

Oh well, I've come to accept that a ton of stuff can only be explained by JOVIANS,.. NANITES.. or both.

Seriously, though. I'm not saying there isn't an explanation, just that I am not privy to it. I'm but an adept, not a master.

I though that immortal pod pilots only came into being on about May 6 YC105. and before that if you got poded, you were as dead as anyone else. So its not that Alexander Noir let himself age, he just didn't clone become he couldn't do it outside of hugely expensive and time consuming, in facility cloning. Come to think of it, the blood raiders must be pretty pleased with the development of the cloning capsule, as there are dramatically more clones out and about these days.

Also cloning so you could have 2 or more of yourself active at once is highly illegal and CONCORD will permadeath you if you try it, IIRC
