Navy tags are crashing hard particulalry general 2 and vice admirals. Why is this?

I expected them to price spike after the fw nerf not crash. I expected farmers to go back to incursions which produce lots of loyalty points but no tags. Seems something else is happening so can someone clue me in.

I could be wrong but from my understanding, these price fluctuations are often enough based on "delayed impact". This is due to the fact that people often harvest a particular item and build up major stockpiles.

I dont know if thats the case for this particular event - I haven't spend enough time on FW mechanics to get a better understanding. But it could very well be that the current price drop is based on insignia stocks being thrown on the market based on the recent FW changes (i.e. people are afraid that insignias will lose worth even more over time).

Just a thought.

To finish the sites, you now have to kill all the npc's that spawn. Probably people are going ahead and picking up the high value tags.

Well if that is the case I expect them to crash a lot further so I'm going to hedge my stock now and get some on the market at this lower price. I am still trading tags now as it's a market that's been good to me i just have to roll with these punches and right the lost value off as they will not be bouncing back if fw is now dumping tags too.

The tag hungry incursion days are over :(

Your assumption that people would leave FW and stop farming it was right. The assumption that they'd return to incursions was off the mark, and what you overlooked is that the smaller current population having the forced opportunity to loot tags generates more tags than the previously much larger population that did not.

Sorry you got owned. Lol

I expect farmers to farm. They just have not figured out what yet.

This is very simple.
There are two RF gyro conversions. The 5 run bpc conversion and the gyro module conversion. The bpc conversion is way, way more efficient in terms of tags and is therefore much more isk/lp, so much so that it is the only one used. The price of the RF gyro was dictated based on the assumption that you were using the bpc conversion and the module conversion was actually negative. Thus the price of the tags used were dictated by the price of the RF gyro and the desire for a profitable conversion from the mission runners.

However T5 conversions made the gyro module conversion better isk/lp than the bpc conversion, despite it consuming considerably more tags per gyro produced. The result was that a dramatically less efficient conversion was used in high volume and the price of tags was forced up.

The end of FW has seen a crash in the price of both the tag and the gyros as people return to the tag efficient npc conversion. More gyros are being produced from the same number of tags and the result is a crash in the price of both which can be witnessed by anyone who cares.

You should vote for KwarK for a lowsec presence on CSM8. It's a good idea. I'd do it! https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=213851

God I love this game.
