The in-game music gets old fast. I log into Sirius and listen to Octane.

So according to the latest Dev Blog " http://community.eveonline.com/devblog.asp?a=blog&nbid=73569 " they are apparently getting rid of the Jukebox UI option? Whats the point? Why get rid of something that works perfectly fine? It makes no sense unless im missing something here?

Thoughts?

"Reading is fundamental"

+1

They pretty much explain the decision perfectly n the devblog.

~
Well i do understand why they are doing but getting rid of the whole being able to play your own mp3s through it which works perfectly fine seems really silly to remove. But reading the other threads calms a few of my fears by them saying that they arnt removing any of the old music which is good.

Well they even explain that. With plenty of other viable ways to listen to your mp3s it cuts out code that they have to maintain, allowing more resources to develop gameplay features.

we will be removing the current jukebox

No more "duhhrrr... da musik boks tingy no workee.... how I fix@!!!?"

edit: although as a replacement for the jukebox, it would be cool if the browser would whitelist flash in the new hosting website, and we could get a neocom button to open it.

It's good to see something new at last.

Keep up the good work! I will use my monitors in EVE :)

But this thing about the jukebox it's sad... I prefer to choose what to listen. And i never use Google Chrome for music and never will, what the hell? I have the Foobar for it.

in 2007 i've thought it's a sci-fi simulator, not an "e-sports" game. I'm not a teenager, how would i like it much?

So, you made a post about a dev blog and even went through the effort to link said dev blog... yet you did not read the dev blog you linked and posted about?

Too bad I used the jukebox when I don't feel like loading up itunes. Oh well I guess I just setup a shortcut for itunes next to eve or see if I can rig it up so itunes will start up when hitting the eve short cut. Something I have to look into.

Welcome to Eve. Everyone here is an Evil Sick Sadistic Bastard who is out to get you. Anyone who tells you otherwise is either trying to scam you or use you.

Its great CCP development its called "Magic" - Developers often don't have enough time to mess with things that are working fine but not CCP. With endless resources they want to make our experience even better. Jukebox is VERY Important !! true story !

I would only object to the mission end and planet sounds. One is unnecessary and immersion-breaking, the other is just plain daft.

Very cool - Eve needs more warning sounds.

We need warnings for when you get pointed, webbed, neuted, disrupted, MWDs shutting down, etc etc.
I'd just settle for something that warns me if I'm being targeted. It's always puzzled me that we don't already have it.

This sounds to me like CCP is trying to make EVE into more of an arcade environment with the planetary sounds and other audio effects that would never be "heard" by space-faring beings.

Also not keen on having the same sound bytes played repeatedly when wrapping up frequently accomplished tasks, such as missions. This is pretty old-school (and worn out) stuff where the same old sounds play at the end of a NPC battle. Is there some level of innovation that I am missing or that was not described in the blog?

+1 for having the option to turn off various classes of audio effects. I am mildly interested in turning EVE's audio out of curiosity. But not if I have to listen to amateur sound hour.

With dynamic music , was wondering it there would ever be the possibility to initiate prerecord end Ccp chosen theme song that the enemy would hear as we landed. Ie flight o the Valkyries or for goon the march of the bees

Someday I will have the time to play. For now it is mining afk in High sec. In Cheap ships

Any chance this will help prevent the sound engine from crashing on a semi-regular basis?

Some times it's really bad and the sound engine craps out over several times an hour.... I prefer playing with sound on but disable/enable sound disable/enable sound disable/enable sound jsut to make it function sometimes gets old pretty fast.

Um, with all due respect...

Please give us the option of turning the B/G music off?

Sorry guys, but it is --IE, the last Duality build I played-- sometimes just jarring, and that's annoying as Hell. Options, please, options!

That, and please don't change the sound of Dual 180mm Autocannon IIs. Best-sounding guns in the game!

Star Wars: the Old Republic may not be EVE. But I'll take the sound of dual blaster-pistols over "NURVV CLAOKING NAOW!!!11oneone!!" any day of the week.

While you're about it, please fix the salvager and mining laser sounds.

The salvager effect, once triggered, often continues relentlessly throughout an entire play session.

The miner's effect often doesn't start until it enters its second cycle.

As someone who actually plays EVE with his sound on, and is a bit of an 'audiophile'... this excites me immensely.
