When did the Caldari Militia become Pirates, Asshats and Griefers

Almost every PvP militia member is only two steps away from becoming pirates anyways I think. There is only one thing that holds most of us back and that is the high sec umbilical cord. Also hunting targets in enemy high-sec is good times.

At least those are the two things that hold me back every time I see neutrals floating obliviously about, that and gate guns are bad for frigate health.

FW pilots are mostly privateers these days. They get paid by one sovereign nation to shoot ships bearing the flag of another sovereign nation, and many engage on opportunistic piracy on the side. Think Letters of Marque.

The old-fashioned loyalists trying to uphold the ideals of their faction while sticking to NBSI and anti-pirate activity are a dying breed. There are still some out there - I think you'll find more in the Minmatar / Amarr front than in the Gallente / Caldari warzone. Most of them tend to be RP-focused groups.

I would like to know how this pilot was able to afford an Orca if he wasn't in Gallente militia running plexes at Tier 4.

This is a travesty!!!

Bad news I am afraid. Loads of Amarr militia joined the Caldari after the Minmatar broke the Amarr. They have infected the Caldari with whining, trolling, blobbing, ganking, neutral alts etc etc. Also Fweddit.

Even the loudest amarr that joined were far more sane/pleasant than a handful of caldari old timers. I actually liked reading DCM's posts :)

It is the wrong question and biased to boot!

The correct question is:
"When did the militia's get up this morning?"

Thanks to the ramp-up in alt use that started some three years ago, any 'neutral' is generally considered a spy (as is most in FW NPC corp). As a result anyone not with one of the established corps are shot on sight and complaints funnelled into the tear reclamation units of these very forums.

In short: Not pirates, asshats or griefers. Just making the most of the fail CCP could be bothered with implementing.

A lot of militia members these days are basically privateers, but even those who aren't pirates are generally operating on hair triggers. An Orca is potentially a jeep carrier for the sort of small ships that can make a faction warrior's life miserable, after all, and the fact that you're technically neutral don't mean diddly in a hot zone - holding to NBSI is a good way to get back-shot, as I've learned the hard way, and just because you're showing neutral, that doesn't mean you can't be fleeted up with war targets.

Thank you for your comments and confirmation of the current state of factional Warfare. I am disappointed but not surprised, so I will not be joining the fight in FW's current interation. It is hard to believe there is not enough war targets to keep guys like Caldari State Capturing busy. My only guess is that the Gallante/Minmitar militia is kicking their arses so badly that they have to attack unarmed neutrals to take out their frustration, better that than taking it out on their wives. To be clear it wasn't the just the loss of the Orca, as has been noted I have lost a number of freighters in low sec over the last 2 years. With my PI ALTs I extract enough materials to make 2 large Caldari towers and a Soventry Blockade unit per day. So losing a freighter a couple times a year is not that big of a deal.

Every 2 months a new group of asshats moves into the low sec system and have to bribe conjole and schmooze so I can continue my ops. The problem is of all the loses to Pirates, Russians, gankers and greifers, it was the Caldari Militia who felt the need to Pod me.

These terrible Caldari pirates are their own worse enemy - biting the hand that feeds them. I suggest you join the Gallente militia, farm in our space where almost all of our systems are at Tier 5. Pick a nice and quiet system like Eugales which has ice belts and is next to a secure high sec system. Or better yet, help us kick them out of that area and then you won't have to deal with them ever again because they won't be able to dock up. Win/win for all. The fact there was an Orca anywhere near a planet was enough reason. Hell, I would have blew you up too if I had known.

An Orca in lowsec without an escort is just asking to be popped. Hell, why is it in lowsec? Definitely moving something important and worth shooting. And if it isn't worth shooting, the km will probably be worth the minor security hit. Podding is a meh issue, I would've at least given the option for a ransom on it Lol

If you can afford the loss so readily, why not invest in some alts to be scouts? And while you're at it, only fly safely and properly aligned. Then short of an interceptor hunting you, you won't get caught. I hope you would've learned that by now given your losses.

I live by 3 simple rules. Any one of which would have saved you.

1) I Don't do PI.
2) I Don't do PI in an orca.
3) I Don't do PI in an orca in low sec.

Make faction war occupancy pvp instead of pve https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=53815&#post53815

This is a space game where you shoot virtual spaceships. I don't understand why some people dont understand it.

This is a Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game set in space where you CAN, but don't HAVE TO shoot anyone you want. Not everyone bother to shoot anyone everywhere. Some shoot everything because they feel like it and because they can. Some like to discriminate and only shoot people that threaten them or behave like self-entitled little twats who think being a sad little Jack Sparrow clone is really the coolest, best thing ever since Damage control II's.

And some people understand that shooting virtual spaceships takes virtual bullets made with virtual materials and set their sights to make them, and sell them for virtual cash. Some of those might think that non-pirates exist in low-sec, and that bringing Orca's to low-sec is a great idea.

Some of those are now proven wrong.
