Question re the Buddy Program

Simple question:

Can I invite myself? I other words create an alt account under the buddy program. When my alt account then signs up, my main account receives a reward.

I don't want to scam CCP, so I would like to know if it is allowed.

yes. hell, they even run a "Power of Two" promotion from time to time...

yup, probably 1/3rd of the characters in eve are probably alt's (2nd account) of another players main character.

You'll fit in nicely.

He didn't ask if he could have a second character on a different account, he asked if he could use the buddy promotion to make said account :)

I expect 1/3 of the characters in EVE a alts created through the Power of Two or Buddy Invite systems.

Just remember, you don't own your alts, your alts own you. Don't get buried in alt-housekeeping to the point that you lose sight of the game you're trying to play.

To clarify on this point. It is considered an exploit by the GMs to create a buddy account if you don't intend to double PLEX it. They consider this to be an abuse of the system if you create a buddy account and don't pay multiple months for it, as it is considered "recycling" of temporary accounts.

This includes the act of priming accounts for future use, such as training up a mining account for 51 days (so you can reactivate it later and already be 60% towards your goal of a new mining character) and letting the account expire because you're not in a current position to maintain it.

So if you intend to make a new character on a new account, you best time it correctly or else you can get banned.
