A Question for DEV Spitfire :-

Could you propose to your Management to have a thread here in these forums (as opposed to a blog) about "This is what we now have on Sisi"

Followed by a blurb as to when a rough estimated time of going live on TQ ?

This would be more informative and cut-down on the inevitable threadnoughts that follow and devblog hints and such.

Peace out.

This is definitely not a bad idea. It might be a bit tricky to create and maintain such a list -- not to mention things that can get pulled off or delayed at the last minute, etc. -- but I can see a lot of merit in it. Let me talk to esteemed CCP Guard when he's in the office and see what we can do.

You've fired two fifths of your community team and hired one repalcement. Now you're seeing very_predictable_feedback to offloading some of the most visible and popular devs. I assume there's more to the story than we'll ever know but from the players perspective you've undone so much good work.

Somebody did the sums on what another forum rage event was going to cost versus saving a couple of wages, I'd be looking to fire that person. Also, I'm sure it was Hilmar who ultimately made this overall choice, why is his name not on the devblog? Sending out the meatsheild from PR is weak.

It's not really my place to comment on this. We all miss our colleagues immensely, but the best we can do right now is to carry on our work and try to make it better.

We (well I am at least) are grateful for your resolve. I cannot imagine that CCP's current working environment could be described as 'fun' right now. Having to then wade into the largely insensitive crowd of EVE players at such a time is probably even less fun and not a task I'd envy doing.

Dear CCP Spitfire,

First off I'd like to commend you on your efforts in this thread so far. You're doing a great job at damage control, and I would be very pleased if you could pass that message on to your superiors.

As for other requests, Hillmar stated there would be more openess from CCP in the near future. I heard about the community team being downsized from external sources, which I feel is a bit lousy as far as communication goes. There was no goodbye and no official: we thank X, Y and Z for their excellent efforts on the community front... they will be sorely missed... a great loss to the company and yada yada... blah blah etc.

I'm not a militant "things have t obe done this way" type of guy, but this just feels like CCP is trying to hide stuff from us.

Also, is there any chance we could get a hint as to an ETA on the winter expansion?

Thank you. Keep up the good work.

Really guys:

The "currently in testing" page of the eve online website hasn't been updated in a year or so. You allready HAVE a place to put it, just nobody updates it...

http://www.eveonline.com/updates/intesting.asp?sid=1011227583

I also would like to show some support for what is left of the Community team, on the one side they must be happy they where not fired, on the other hand they have lost friends and colleagues who know are probably not overjoyed with what has been happening the last year. I am afraid trouble (I don't mean trouble but another censored word) always flows downhill.

Thank you for the kind words; I appreciate that a lot. We are currently preparing a message from the community team which will hopefully answer (at least some of) your questions. Please stay tuned for a bit.

I don't understand the tricky part. Sit down and write out the entire Eve roadmap as it exists now, then a month from now come back and edit as necessary. Then, a month later, do the same again.

The only tricky part is if there's an internal communication issue that denies you the knowledge needed to keep it accurate.

To the community team, please don't take any of our rants personally. I think you all do an amazing job in difficult times, it's just some of the decisions from upper managment I find perplexing.

I am a bit perplexed on how what CCP says and does still looks weird. They say they will focus on EVE, and right next they fire part of the community team. So apparently EVE's community team is not about EVE. Listening to customers looks like a poor idea, huh. Question

Also, by reading this thead, I am begnnning to wonder whatever will hapen to what interests me about EVE. I don't give a damm of nullsec so whatever is done there is wasted effort to me. I barely can interest myself in any of the winter expansion. Instead I am quite interested about Incarna (and what i want from Incarna, as per a thread I can't link hereRoll), also about the NEx store (specifically lowering its ludicrous prices by 70%) and many more things i can't see neither on the winter expansion nor anywhere else. No talks about more/better stuff for casual players, no talks about more/better stuff for solo players, so far looks like CCP is focusing in appealing to nullsec/PvP/blobster whiners and i just became stuck along with the wrong minority.

And it all summarizes as: what has CCP done fo me beyond wasting Lvl5s (that used to be my goal when I started)? What will it do for me?

Morning Spitfire,

Is there a way that I can forward along (preferably out-of-Eve) my work's job posting and Facebook links? We're technical in nature (over a couple core fields) but also global in scope.

I do not get bonuses for this btw, the offer is purely to help y'all.
