Full Team Rosters

So we want to post full team rosters publicly for a thing. I just want to get some team feedback on reasons why or why not you might think that is "k".

some people spent like hours spying on other teams and you want now just to give it all out for free?Roll

Knowing who the teams are offers a buy-in for players. In the Alliance Tournament most players are rooting for their alliance, a coalition member or someone they hold in high regard. In all these cases, the observer has a connection to the team and a reason to care/root for that team. Due to the anonymity of the closed team rosters, viewers no longer have the same buy in or reason to care as much.

Another huge part of the Alliance Tournaments were the rivalries. Seeing two teams with "in-game grudges" brawling it out on an evenly matched field was something to look forward to. Unfortunately those rivalries are now masked unless you have well placed spies.

Again, with other tournaments such as league of legends, the players are all known very well individually, as are the teams. I think if CCP could adopt this, it would be a very clever thing to do. I personally believe releasing full team rosters would make it more difficult for people to train without getting spied on, but it would make the tournament more well known, well publicised and make it more in-depth. Which i think will capture the interest of a lot more people.

Also, when are we getting these Teamspeak interviews with captains? That's probably one of the best ideas for publicity yet!

I don't understand why its being so hush-hush when it comes to the players in the teams.

At the end of the day if you are against a power house does knowing in advance really make that much a difference; besides which its pretty easy to just ask around; in the bringing solo back channel 3/4 of the teams captains and/or their team mates sit in there just chattin crap about the tournament anyway.

Personally I feel having all your team members displayed opens the door for more spying as the more established teams will throw around some ISK, promises, and influence to try to get some inside information.

That would be my primary reservation.

That is EVE!!! every captain had a choice to pick (nominate) his own team, if he has done a mistake by nominating somebody who can not be trusted, well... he can blame himself.

What i would really like to see in the future tournaments (cash or alliance), is to have a dedicated 'secure' (entry by password based?) system with seeded station for every team to test. I think this is something that CCP should really look into.

I like how you go with the 'This is EVE, HTFU approach', but then ask for your own system to test in.

Spying is part of this game my friends, adapt and overcome.

My wl is bigger than yours.

But yeah, you are releasing info that some of us actually work to acquire. That sort of goes against the concept where intelligence is part of the tournament. If you want to run things differently in the future, sure, but there will not be less spying from making teams public this time.

XXXMity Shadow of Ram Legion DOT Reloaded Hattree.XXXWorstOffenders is missing Suleiman Shouaa

Also we have been trying to get Karah Serrigan and Dr Narud removed since he quit the game entirely. Can this get resolved some time BEFORE the tournament starts, at least the bit with Sulei?

Suleiman Shouaa is not on my list of team members for XXXMity. You should probably submit a petition to community as this is the first I've heard of any of this. That's generally the thing to do.

Suleiman Shouaa is not on my list of team members for XXXMity. You should probably submit a petition to community as this is the first I've heard of any of this. That's generally the thing to do.
