Piracy died a long time ago.

Its just a bunch of FW guys that not only shoot the opposing faction but everything in between.

Also most "pirate" camps consist of an instalocking camp wth an Orca for safety.

Check out Negative Ten, they camp the gate in instalocking lachesis/huggin/loki with an orca and several, if not a dozen rooks. Piracy no longer exists.

My question is, if you all don't mind me buttin in here. At the moment I'm a complete noob when it comes to this stuff, (as in just got done with all the tutorials) yes I plan on seeking out a corp, and yes I do eventually want to make piracy my life in eve. However I would also like to enjoy what high sec has to offer. Is this possible to do with just one character? Or do you all recommend I find a corp and leave for low sec immediately and start doing guristas missions or something.. Is it possible to switch after say obtaining lvl 4 missions in high sec, hence gaining the SP and Knowledge needed NOT to get blown up the moment I walk into low or null sec. Which don't get me wrong, I know I will loose ships, time and money. Also is it possible to do that vica versa? Although I can imagine its much harder going from a pirate to high sec.

How would being able to return to the gate faster lower a barrier to new players?

Under current mechanics, you can only really tackle on a gate once every 15 minutes in a frigate, unless you have ridiculously good remote repair people.

noobs will not be able to leave the gate at the first place mate...they ALL will die in a fire.

Oh silly me....he's right, now there will be many more chances for new players in frigates to camp gates under sentry fire with logi back-up. Can't wait to see that.

Remember new players, bring those faction fit pirate frigates to low sec for the gate camps when Retribution releases. It's now easier and certified by a guy with a tag that implies he knows something!

I am curious which attractive gates they will camp as the "native" pirate corps in the good low sec entry systems will send them home quite fast. It benefits gate camps for sure (literally hundrets of dead cloaky transports within the first days...)...but not new players.
