Howdy all. Apologies for not checking the thread the past few weeks; I've been changing jobs and moving continents (back in Euro TZ now). I'll keep an eye on things here tho again starting.... now.

When the CSM started, did CCP actually ask you what you saw as the player/subscribers biggest X concerns about the game and if so what did you tell them

When the CSM actually started it was essentially a resurrected idea that was rushed into reality in response to the T20 scandal. It likely would have happened anyway, just not as soon. I don't really recall much serious back and forth in terms of the direction of the game before CSM 3. I was a dev for the first 5 iterations of the CSM and it was a highly regarded concept by some CCPers and an online terrorist organization to others. CSM 5, 6 and 7 have all worked to try and improve the relationships and processes so that it's worth everyone's time to be involved.

One more request .. probably my last (no promises though Big smile )

This thread has been going on for quite a while and was started at Team Avatars suggestion
Captains quarters ideas fixes and enhancements

It would be great if you could poke Team Avatar and ask them to respond to that thread, maybe get them to indicate if any of the suggestions are possible.

Cheers

This is something I've poked the hornet's nest about a few times now and the best I can tell you is that you probably shouldn't hold your breath expecting much in the way of ~Incarna~ advancement in the near future. Unless CCP pulls something out of their ass at FanFest that the CSM is unaware of, I have heard nothing that would lead me to believe we are going to see much iteration on space dolls or their living quarters soon. I have mixed feelings about it because, on one hand, it seems like there is a lot of potential there. On the other, CCP is very laser focused on getting the 'spaceships' side of the game working as well as possible. Short of a full blown player rabble about how CCP needs to stop working on spaceships in the next 12-18 months, I'd be surprised if CCP does much with this stuff. But, as I said, maybe I'm wrong and there is just something they are not telling us. I doubt it tho. What?

With a nerf to moons coming soon, will there be any buff to nullsec alliance incomes, whether through anomaly buffs for corporate taxes or other alternatives? It doesn't seem like sov is worth having anymore, perhaps something you can relate to, being in PL.

Anything like what you are talking about will likely be part of a much larger overhaul of sov and null-sec. The sov system is an unfinished, boring, time vampire. The entirety of null sec needs a massive update / overhaul. This is something the CSM has been pushing for aggressively and you will hear quite a lot more about leading up to the December summit

Yep, I was waiting on an updated response to this. Basically, the QEN was a huge amount of work for the Research and Statistics group and it was decided that their time could be better spent on other projects. I'm pretty sure this was also announced at FanFest but my memory has faded over time. Smile

Can we get some sort of statement from CCP saying that they are going to look at it and to try to do things such as try to make the act of taking sov less of a hit/miss affair, and to try to incentivize actually living in nullsec as opposed to PVP in nullsec in fleet fights and do moneymaking stuff in hisec?

A yes/no would suffice.

Could they just make a monthly economic data dump of selected statistics for the stat-junkies to pore over? I'm sure that the playerbase would be delighted to do the actual report for them if they did. Indeed, I can imagine it being as popular a service as Dotlan or Eveboard.

There is a bit of white noise that we are trying to cut through with regard to this very thing. Those old reports were put together from a LOT of raw data and obviously gone through with a fine toothed comb before release. There has been some discussion about how much of that data will be made available through CREST and this pretty much ties right into that. I wouldn't expect a solid answer until near the end of the year, but in the absence of CCP Diagoras' random stat updates (among other things), I think that CCP should certainly make some of the info 'public record' on a regular basis if they don't plan to release a formal report anymore.

Good. Let's hope they'll make the right noises and follow that up with the right actions. They've got their work cut out for them, what with the last 3 years of neglect.

Could you do us a BIG favor and tell us when CCP is changing over the skills for the racial BCs and destroyers?

They have been severely lacking in a date, and just teasing us.

Yeah just trying to ask very taboo questions. Was hoping for a more exact response. Its just CCP Fozzy or someone recommending to train them now, that got me going, very inconvenient for me, but later on I don't mind training them up.

Also what are some passwords for entering Jove space. (By passwords I mean two passwords, and by two I mean account names and passwords?)

Is it okay to say that I don't really care? Smile

Quite honestly, I have nothing but respect for the CCP folks that work a lot of extra hours to put this stuff on for us, but the 'Open' is really the furthermost thing from my mind as EVE is concerned atm. Smile

Is it because of CCP Dolan? I suppose he was a competitor for CSM last time, so it might be a bit personal when you go back to iceland this winter.

I would like to know if the CSM/CCP have seen this thread in GD about why people do not engage in "PvP". There are a lot of points repeated by players. IMHO if I were to make a TL;DR of it:

- Cheesy, unspectacular, lopsided, illogical, unbelievable PvP game mechanics.

Looking at the starmap (average players in space, ships killed and similar) will tel you that low security space and "epic" null security fights/occupation is 95% make-believe available only to the few that blob up. The majority of players passes this content and is in high security space doing their stuff, either being wardecced playing mainly station games and timer management or PvE/trading/mining etc...

Is this on the radar and will there be a substantial improvement or is all hope in vain and Eve "PvP" stays the way it is?

Sidequestion, what design philosophy is there behind the Eve UI, the only product I see is the typical solution of an IT centered guy. Blob MOAR information/windows/tabs on the screen then any human can process. In other words a mess. Instead of making use of the nice filters and neural networks that I have in the back of my head. Physically I mean, in real life.

With all due respect, the retribution UI changes are 99% cosmetical that do not change anything in regards to give the player worthwile information instead of noise. Except the "tracking camera option" which is a good thing. But that should have been there in 2003.

There is more stuff, such as having some windows with their options in the top-left, some right click, others none, some others have their own.....but I'll leave it at this.
